that first song they had was fuckin retarded "somebody told me". it was just fucking dumb as fuck. anyways, their other songs are pretty good and they have some createive videos. I think the lead singer wears makeup, but in a way where he thinks no one can tell, so it just makes him look a like agiant queerbag

Right on with that one!
They just try to make a bunch of catchy nonsense. I don't feel some real music going on. Luckily I don't own the album myself!

The Killers make great pop songs, simple as that.
And there are not enough good pop songs around at the moment.
The Bravery on the other hand, suck BIG cock.

So fuckin what if he did though?? Doesn't make him any less of a musician in my opinion. Every band has a schtick. Make-up and synthesizers just happen to be a part of their image...And if that makes him a 'queerbag' in your homophobic world then go listen to what u think is the most 'manly' band out there.

The Bravery on the other hand, suck BIG cock. I honestly gave em a chance man...Bought the CD and I really couldn't find anymore than 2-3 good tracks on it. No wonder The Killers are doing better.

They had two fantastic albums in Hot Fuss and Sam's Town, then everything after got very patchy. Day & Age is probably the strongest from the last three. Great live act though and Brandon Flower's is a great frontman. It's pretty much Flower's and side players now.

For me it's Sam's Town > Hot Fuss > Battle Born .... and then everything else. Wasn't a fan of Battle Born, gave it a couple of listens but it just didn't connect to me like the first three albums. I thought Wonderful Wonderful was a disappointment. Sam's Town is their best album imo. It still had moments of Hot Fuss in there but also moved in the influences like Springsteen and U2. All the singles are great, and Title Track and Uncle Johnny are great. But I think Hot Fuss would probably be the album they are remembered for, it's the one they wear their British influences on their sleeves and one of the reasons the UK and Ireland is their biggest market. Their most memorable singles and even the album tracks could have been singles. Great albums. I have a soft spot for the singles from Day & Age, and This is Your Life should have been a single as well, fantastic track. That's why it get's the nod for me. Their Live C.D/DVD from Royal Albert Hall is a great listen as well.

Yeah I agree with the above. Day and Age did have some decent songs on it (Dustland Fairytale, Goodnight Travel Well) but with me holding Sam’s Town in such high regard and hearing the stand alone Tranquilize single with Lou Reed having the same dark undertones as ST I was hoping for more of the same. Whereas Day and Age was altogether a different beast and far lighter and poppier than ST. Not really my palette
The first album is a great slice of nostalgia not only with its influences but also for me personally being 18 when it came out. It has some absolute all time classic songs on it and will always be remembered because of that.
Because after posting on here I listened to Sam’s Town for the first time in years I thought I’d rank the songs in order of preference (exc Interludes). The top 5 are pretty interchangeable. Truly great album

As I said before, their debut album was brilliant. I really loved (and still do) it. I didn't expect that they're an American band!

That what was so shocking and one of the reasons why U.K still loves them to this day, in another world they would have been born in Manchester or something lol. It's funny that the most successful album in the States is still their most British sounding album, once they stepped into Springsteen/U2 type bombast, they didn't have that big of success within their own country with it.

Truly great album Why Do I Keep Counting? Uncle Johnny Read My Mind When You Were Young The River is Wild Bling (Confessions of a King) Sam’s Town For Reasons Unknown My List Bones For a while there they were one of the better bands to come out of that early 00's period, but with Day & Age you could hear the more poppy stuff slowly slip into their sound and the indie rock slowly slip away. Reminds me of Kings of Leon third album Because of The Times, they still had some of the indie stuff from the first two albums there but the MOR rock is heard sneaking in. But Day & Age has a few of their best songs on it to save it. Hot Fuss still stands up and is probably the hit you on first listen album from their whole resume. Sam's Town is the better album but needs more work from the listener but it's the definitive Killer's album. It had the tough sound that they never went back too, and have since played it safe. Which is a shame.

hot fuss is one my favorite albums. Pretty much every song on that album is fantastic. The sound is modern but also has a familiar feel to it.
.....unfortunately, every album after that just seemed to get worse imo. They stopped sounding modern and started taking on this 80s pop vibe.
overall I dont mind the killers, I simply dont think they ever got near their debut album again. Their last few albums really havnt been much to get excited about imo.
