Was wondering if anyone else was into the kinks albums since most people i know only know their best of. i strongly recomend any of these albums that are massively underated. 1968- The Kinks are the village green preservation society, 1969- Athur, 1970- Lola vs powerman and the moneygoround, 1971- Musswell Hillbillys. Albums surrounding these years are also great but these are my favourite.
CHECK THEM OUT

i absolutely love the village green... and arthur is also very strong...but by far my favourite kink album is the one that came out just before village green called "Something Else by the Kinks"
imo, that is by far their greatest album and one of the top albums of the decade.
many of the kink albums from that era have been re-released recently (most with lots of bonus tracks)

Something Else is the best, IMO... Has my favorite Dave song, Death of a Clown Although their albums are good, they are obviously not as strong as the beatles... My complaint with Something Else and Village Green are that they begin and end with a bunch of really great songs but somewhere directly in the middle is a slightly weak point. Whatever the case, they are certainly a unique band, and if the only thing you know by them is "You Really Got Me", you're missing out.
