New Strokes Album Out This Year
The Strokes have confirmed that while they’re ensconced in the recording studio in New York at present, they’re certain that the follow up to 2003’s ‘Room On Fire’ will be released later this year.
According to a new statement from their manager Ryan Gentles, the band have been working in their New York recording studio on their eagerly anticipated third album.
They've currently recorded five new songs and have abandoned long-time collaborator Gordon Raphael in favour of producer David Kahne, more renowned for his work with Tony Bennett, Stevie Nicks, K.D. Lang, The Bangles and Paul McCartney. “No word on when they'll be finished,” the statement reads, “It will take as long as it takes, but we're confident that it will come out sometime this year. The band sends their love and appreciation from the studio.”
The group also explained that they will be hitting the road to promote the new record in 2005, and will be playing more gigs (and in more places) than ever before.
“There will be a LOT more touring on this next album than on ‘Room On Fire’,” the statement continues, “So we'll be seeing you all later this year... And we'll be sure to get to a lot of countries/cities/places that we haven't been to before or that we haven't been to since ‘Is This It’ touring....”
yea, is this it is a special album. to me is this it is really special but i like room on fire a lot...especially reptilia which is a great song with a funny title... ;D i've heard a new demo from J.Casablancas, N.Valensi,N.Fraiture and M.Romano (drummer) and it was a bit disappointing...i hope it doesn't represent the new album

Yes! Both albums were great but I prefer Room on Fire. 12:51, Reptilia, I Can't Win, it's got some good songs on that one!
