yea it'll probly be all overblown and all. then two members of the band will leave. then in 3 years they'll have a another weak album. then have a comeback one. then another comeback one.

No i don't think it'll happen either...It might happen...but its not likely. Coldplay don't seem the type to overproduce an album.

wont happen. The recordings coldplay have done for their third album have been the exact oposite of the way oasis recorded be here now. They've taken their time and are trying to get everything exactly how they want it. Oasis recorded be here now very quickly and i dont think their attitude to recording was very similar to coldplays. Also as mbm mentioned no one in coldplay has any addiction to hard drugs and as far as im aware have any alcohol problems either.
I dont like coldplay, i find their music very boring and dull so i dont think that I will like the album. However i dont think they will make an overblown album because i think they are in the correct mental state to avoid doing this.

...NME.COM heard six tracks – ‘Square One’, ‘Talk’, ‘‘Till Kingdom Come’, ‘X&Y’, ‘What If’ and ‘The Hardest Part’. The material shows a huge progression from the classic Coldplay sound, mixing their trademark anthems with ’70s electronica. David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Brian Eno are all influences, while ‘Talk’ features the riff from Kraftwerk’s ‘Computer Love’. OMG. ’70s electronica.

No harm with that, Be Here Now is a great album. I always find with Coldplay's songs that I either love it or hate it, same as with Radiohead.
