I know this is going against what the Oasis fanbase's type of music is but has anybody heard of this guy? If you haven't, id like to implore you to give him a try. Admittedly his songs are a bit lacking in the "big guitar" sound but i think the sparsity of instruments around him only help to bring his voice and lyrics to the forefront. I don't exactly know where to categorize him he doesn't exactly have the Coldplay sound but i wouldnt exactly categorize him as Emo-Rock either..Choice tracks to wet your palate would be: Between the Bars (Thats the song that drew me in), King's Crossing, Fond Farewell and Twilight. Hehe well alright, just wondering if anybody on here listens to him.

Yeah he killed himself last year actually. They had an article on him in SPIN last month (U2 Cover) and it's pretty crazy cuz he's been suicidal for a long time...In the article it stated that he once tried to jump off a cliff but his fall was broken by a few branches and brushery. He killed himself by stabbing himself twice in the chest with a kitchen knife....Now i know it takes alot of bullocks to end your own life but to actually insert a knife into your chest only to pull it out and plunge it deep into ur chest again takes major stones...Ah well i'm getting beside the point here, regardless of the sadness and pain he felt through life he made some really wonderful music.

Thanks man for the info. I'm currently getting into him as well. "Miss Misery" drew me in. On his website is a video of him performing it at the Oscars. It was nominated for best song or something for "Good Will Hunting", a great movie by the way. It lost to Celine Dion (shit) for Titanic I think.
