I agree with you beerbaron. U2 wanted to be The Clash. Edge even said that had it not been for the Clash, they'd never have written "Sunday Bloody Sunday"

geese, what's the mather with you guys?? U2 is the biggest band nowadays, and those are not my words, but Noel's! they are amazing live, and make great musics in studio, some are crap, but none band in the has reached perfection in every single song...

Save your hate for other bands that are light years behind Oasis and U2 such as, but not limited to: Good Charlotte and Slipknot...All those bastards couldnt hold a candle to Oasis or U2. As for them (particularly Bono) being overtly political, i say hey more power to them...If they feel that have enough knowledge in politics and that they can do some good and use the resources that they have at their disposal to aid and better a situation than good for them...It sure beats wasting time like applying clown make-up...*ahem*
