they've been doing the same thing for the past 25 years- a tour and a cd/dvd/vhs of it
don't get me wrong, they're a great band, but there's too much going on in their shows- i just don't like all the backup singers and horns and stuff. too much.
in short, heard it!

A Zep 1 , physical graffiti , rubber soul , born to run , machine head , , Dark side , wish you were here , Who next , quadrophonia ... But hey they did have great lp covers .........

Sticky Fingers is an amazing record, IMO. Brown Sugar, Wild Horses, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Sister Morphine, Moonlight Mile, etc. Songs like Dead Flowers and Sway are underrated.
I will also say that Let It Bleed and Exile On Maine Street are great records

Stones made 'great' albums too. Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St., Some Girls and Tattoo You are all great albums IMO. Special mention for Black and Blue too, some proper tunes on there as well.

No way would the Stones have shelled out 15 grand for a picture of some guy's semi showing through a rather snug pair of old jeans, if Warhol hadn't shot it.

I will only consider "Dear Doctor" as a "bad song". Factory Girl and Prodigal Son are not amazing but still good and the rest goes from pretty good to amazing. And it has Sympathy for the Devil on it (and Street Fighting Man). What do you hate about the album ?

Factory Girl and Prodigal Son are not amazing but still good and the rest goes from pretty good to amazing. And it has Sympathy for the Devil on it (and Street Fighting Man). What do you hate about the album ? Well, first of all, I'd add Parachute Woman to the list of "not amazing" tunes. It's one of those songs where if you're doing something else, you kind of forget there's music playing. I always do essays and things like that with earphones in listening to music, and, as I tend to do any work at the last available opportunity, it's usually in the dead of night when I'm knackered and less attuned anyway. But even then, it usually has to be something like Magic Pie, something laborious to listen to anyway; not something that's barely more than two minutes! Like seriously, the last time I listened to it, I thought to myself, 'I'm really gonna give it a proper go this time...' Next thing I know, Jagger's crooning about the tramp sitting on his doorstep... Which leads me onto the lyrics... Is Salt Of The Earth not the most fucking patronising song you've ever heard? I mean, I'm not too keen on posh boy former economics student Jagger pondering on " what's a poor boy to do?" on Street Fighting Man, but, " Let's drink to the hard working people, Let's drink to the uncounted heads; Let's think of the wavering millions Who needing leading, but get gamblers instead"?? Sod off! Sounds like something you'd hear a Tory politician say around election time. Almost as unpleasant as Jagger waxing lyrical about shagging a minor on Stray Cat Blues...

salt of the earth is meant to be patronising, its not celebrating the hard working people its mocking them, as jagger said himself the song is pure cynicism. prodigal son is fucking awesome aswell, its pure country blues. dear doctor is the only song i would consider a throwaway and i still love it. beggars banquet is a masterpiece.

Beggars Banquet is great, their most blues based album, blues roots.
