Eminem Joins Campaign To End Bush
Eminem is planning to vote for the first time in his life after being left seething at the US President.
The controversial rapper said he was determined to get George Bush out of office.
But while Em said he was definitely anti-Bush, he said he was still undecided over Democratic contender John Kerry.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: "Bush is definitely not my homie. But I'm still undecided.

I don't hate Eminem... he got me through the ages 11-12. He's a devoted father and is actually very intelligent. It's bad enough that he's in the music industry he's now going into politics!
Yes, i WAS en Eminem fan... but i haven't been for a very long time (i now think rap sucks!)

eminem's new video - www.gnn.tv/videos/viewer.php?id=27&spd=hiquite interesting - very anti-bush, anti-war and pro-vote. but the only brief mention of john kerry came at the very end considering that subtly is hardly a strong theme throughout the song (understatement of the century) i thought Kerry would figure more, but i guess this thread explains why he doesnt. seems strange that he isnt plugging kerry... with america's woeful two party system, he doesnt have much choice...

Are Oasis against bush to? Good question. I would like to know as well... And I agree with all of the above posters who have said it's sad that too many celebrities are getting into politics. Everybody thinks they can just go and preach to the world about politics but that's just shite in my opinion. I say; Leave Politics to Politicians and music to Musicians.

I say; Leave Politics to Politicians and music to Musicians. thats right! but ive never heard any comment from the band towards the usa election.. have you? i think they prefer to stay neutral and not to get involved in politics, they care bout music! wich i think great!

Leave Politics to Politicians and music to Musicians. Oasis know this for sure. That's why they don't speak out what they think about vaginas like Bush or Kerry Radiohead should learn to keep their mouths shut sometimes. ;D

Going by interviews as recent as two or three years ago I know that Liam doesn't care about politics and Noel thinks the US should be more like Europe. If they were Americans they both most likely would've voted against Bush.
As for Eminem, he said in Rolling Stone magazine that this was his first year of voting. I don't agree with everything Bush does, but I think it was a bit hypocritical of him to make this full-on anti Bush video as if he knows everything that's going on when he apparently just started following politics.

I guess im in the minority on the subject of musicians who dabble in politics. I feel that we should atleast attempt to know whats going on in the world around us and though im not calling out for all musicians to be aware of global issues, i believe that if they are informed and desire to use their popularity to try and spread the word about a certain subject that they feel is important then good for them. Its our world and we have to share it with billions of other people and if Coldplay wants to save a few trees and make trade fair and and if u2 wants to help globalize Africa and bring the news of much needed AIDS medicine to those dying in Africa on the social frontburner of issues then more power to them. Just because they sing and act doesnt mean they should turn a blind eye and deaf ears to certain social issues around the world.
