THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND have been accused of dumping 800lb (360 kg) of human waste from their tourbus onto a boat filled with passengers on an architecture trip.
It’s claimed that more than 100 people were drenched in sewage in the incident (August 8), when the driver of the bus emptied the septic tank through a grate in the Kinzie Street bridge and into the Chicago river below.
The state of Illinois is now suing the band for violating state laws.
The band and one of its drivers are facing civil penalties of $70,000 (£39,000) from the state for allegedly violating water pollution and public nuisance legislation.
According to BBC News, a spokesperson for The Dave Matthews Band said: "Our driver has stated that he was not involved in this incident."
He added that the band "will continue to be co-operative in this investigation".
All of the people on the tour boat were refunded for the trip and none were seriously injured. The boat was cleaned with disinfectant.
Attorney General Lisa Madigan said: "This incident may be unique, but that does not lessen the environmental or public health risks posed by the release of at least 800lbs of liquid human waste into a busy waterway and onto a crowded tour boat."

DMB is class...always interesting, really although I will admit the last few albums have been sort of formulaic. Heard about this news a couple weeks ago and almost threw up after hearing it..

"Under the tabletop and dreaming" and "crash" were great albums, but its true now they are shit, although dave mathews and friends is quite good, especially when trey anastio plays with them, they do a great cover of hey bulldog.

sorry webby, never heard of em! honest. must be one of those american bands with beards that my subconcious blocks out on me.
so, is it hippy shite or what?
no hippy shit, he refused to sign with any big lables, produced himself and became one of the top grossing acts of the late 90's in the US. I guess I would have to call it adult contemparary indie . When coming to NYC he could easily sell out Giants Stadium (5 days straight, 90k seats) Something only Bruce and a few others can do in New York ....

Whats great about dave matthews band is that they sound fuckin brilliant live. They do that sorta grateful dead, phish thing were they tend to jam out some of the songs, so it sounds great. And they can also record good studio albums and singles. Download two step if you havent heard them thats a cool tune.
themasterplanet: A Northern Soul by The Verve! My second favourite album by them. I love the atmosphere of it, it’s very dreamy and melancholic and dark. It holds many memories for me and I think that’s partly responsible for why I love it so much.
