The pistols had split when johnny left the joke that was left during the great rock n roll swindle is not the pistols its some lads proving that people will give money for anything and Johnny Rotten wanted no part of that

for fuck sake go and buy a book about the sex pistols chris!
the sex pistols lived a lifetime in probably the two years that they were around.
they were public enemy no 1 in britain in 1977. i have a gig in the summer of 1977 which is as good as the album.
the sex pistols wrote all their songs before sid joined. rotten/cook/jones/matlock bar hollidays in the sun.
steve jones played all of sids bass lines on the album.
rotten had enough at the end of the ill fated 78 american tour and quit.
mcclaren was a vagina and terrible manager .
could you picture oasis without liam as the front man? same with the sex pistols.
liam is the greatest frontman since johnny rotten in british music.

Wait guys! Dont argue! Im sure your both right, thanx for the information guys! they can't both be right.... lord help us its an interesting discussion - but do you guys have to use so many curse words? ;D i dont find Nirvana that depressing- and i definitely dont see how anyone can question Cobain's talent and influence. Sid Vicious is nothing compared to him Sid and Nancy was a good film though

HERE IS A REMEBERENCE POST FOR THE LEGENED SID VICIOUS, WHO WAS ONE OF THE BEST ELECTRIC GUITAR PLAYERS IN HISTORY! i love the pistols. never mind the bollocks is one of my favorite albums to listen to. the pistols were great, but they were terrible, awful musicians. to call him one of the best guitarists in history is just wrong. it's like comparing noel to hendrix or whitey to bonham, or bonehead to entwistle. hendrix was one of the best guitarists in history. so is b.b. king, david gilmour, jimmy page, & stevie ray vaughan. get where i'm coming from? and the worst part was, HE PLAYED BASS!!!!

the sex pistols sounded their best live in the summer of 77. if you have bollocks then that was exactly how they sounded at that time.
if you listen to oasis around the time of deffo maybe their live shows mirror the album.
with the pistols the vocals/drums and simple rock n roll guitar of steve jones masked sids awful bass playing.
then the heroin really kicked in and it was a downhill slide from there.
the pistols kickstarted a revolution and changed the face of music to this day.
most of the punk bands had picked up a guitar for the first time after seeing the pistols live.

after all they saw the pistols, all the new punk bands picked up instruments to ruin music. they're definitely doing a good job.

Sid was just an unfortunate soul who got tricked by that fuckhead Malcolm McClaren. Before joining the Pistols the only thing he'd ever done musically was play drums at the first Siouxsie and the Banshees gig. And according to Johnny Rotten, when Sid first joined he showed some promise. But soon Malcolm got in his ear and he met Nancy. They everything went to hell and Sid just lost himself. Shame to cause from what I've read and heard from interviews with those in the early British punk scene, Sid was a great guy, at least before Nancy.
