rock n roll is fifty years old.
oasis are a rock n roll band but who do you think is the best of the best as a rock n roll singer.
we have people like jagger, morrison, gallagher, boland, rotten, bowie, strummer, lennon(not wimpy paul)cobain,axle,morrisey,iggy,....the list is endless.
who is your favourite then?
me, i go with the best who is elvis.
to me he is truly the king of rock n roll.
great hair, great looks, great moves, great clothes, and above all else, great voice.
even when he was doing vegas in the sad fat days he still had something very special and tragic.
your turn people.

No rock star has ever looked as cool as a stage presence as Jimmy Page circa 1972. If there was ever a poster child for the rock star, that man was it.

I have a lot of people, i'd say Oasis because it was Oasis who have really inspired me musically but for greatest men in rock... ever i'd say
(in no real order)
John Lennon-
John Lennon was a member of what i believe is the greatest band ever to come out of Britain, The Beatles. The Beatles themselves did so much for the music industry in the UK. John Lennon wasn't just a musician too, he was an artist and a fighter. He fought for what he thought was right no pun intended but all he wanted was to give peace a chance.
Kurt Cobain-
A lot of people say that Kurt Cobain wasn't such a great guitarist/songwriter (whatever) i'm not saying he was but he was THE icon of his time. Kurt Cobain broke so many boundaries and showed the world what life really is like for teenagers and was a great influence on the lives of thousands. A lot of Nirvana fans nowadays are just kids who are too young to really understand the music and just go around cutting themselves (it's a sad fact but believe me- i've seen it with my own eyes) Kurt Cobain in his own right was also a freedom fighter. Nirvana was rock music and Kurt Cobain was there to have a good time.
I could go on forever but i'll stop now

I'd agree and say Elvis is probably the greatest and always will be.
Also I think Paul Weller is great.
Pete Doherty could be one for the future (as long as he sorts his head out!!). I just love all that attitude and charisma he has

In my opinion:
1. Liam 2. Keith Richards 3. Keith Moon 4. Jimi Hendrix 5. Kurt Cobain 6. John Rotten 7. Shaun Ryder 8. Jim Morrison 9. Sid Vicious 10. Johnny Marr
After the top 5 it may change from time to time.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! this is the joke of the year! nope, you saying axl rose is what the joke of the year is... he was great in his time, but the way he has managed to massacre the gnr in the past couple years destroys all credibility he ever had.

i'd have to say Lennon, Hendrix, and Cobain. they were all the best at their styles. Eddie Veder and Axel Rose aren't far behind.
i'd really like to see oasis cover november rain actually. i think it would be amazing.

Am I the only Led Zeppelin fan here? I swear, you'll never find a cooler looking rock star, or one that lived the lifestyle as much as Jimmy Page did.
And I would say that Eddie Vedder is the biggest rock star of the last 15 years. Moreso that Axl Rose. I would say that Slash is even a bigger star than Axl is. After all, now he's got Velvet Revolver, and Axl is gone down the shitter.

i am a zep fan.
i also think that the two most important bands over the past two decades of music were oasis and nirvana, not the stone roses or guns and roses.
both those bands blew it big time!
elvis is still the king of rock n roll though.
ever heard the sun sessions people? go and buy it.
