This band are absolutely genius. They were signed by Alan Mcgee for his new Poptones label after they played the New Band Tent at Glastonbury as an unsigned act. Nicholson cites Oasis as the main reason he go into music, and he sings with that energetic yet pure beauty that Liam used to have. After seeing them live in London I can confirm them as THE best new band out there. Official site - www.theboxerrebellion.netSmall (yet cool) fansite - www.theboxerrebellion.orgTheir new single 'Code Red' is out in the UK on September 13th with their debut album pencilled in for Sep/Oct. Live downloads can be obtained from the official site, and their brilliant debut single 'Watermelon' can be dowloaded from www.poptones.co.ukCheck them out - you WILL be amazed.

They are a four-piece with Nathan Nicholson (the singer) a Liam-circa '94 look-alike. No idea which liam you were looking at but this guy looks nothin like a 94 liam! Why does the next biggest band have to sound and look like liam? Columbia on speed? Theyll never be big if they sound like oasis they need to be something new in my opinion the libertines are THE greatest british band at moment

They are similiar to Oasis merely in the vibe they give off. 'critics' have more likened them to an amalmagation of Radiohead, Muse, BRMC, and the Cooper Temple Clause. Of course new bands don't have to BE like Oasis, but lets face it - Oasis weren't the most cutting edge of bands, so any punky guitar pop could be likened to them - which is what I was doing.
I said Code Red was like Columbia on speed because when I listened to it, it reminded me of how I felt when I first heard Columbia all those years ago. It makes me want to jump around like a crazy buffoon.
