Oasis music is inspired by Beatles... n some beatles songs are inspired by Presley, Elvis (lennon was a big fan)....

so i think i did write that i dont want to start to talk about people copying some other people's music.... its endless...

Great band and great live act too. Best gig I went to last year was Jet and the Hiss, both great and they did a really good version of Columbia together.

I think they were famous in the UK before anywhere else. A lot of American bands seem to go that way too.
I guess it's because they can play to a large number of people over a short period of time. All the towns are so close together over here.
