I'm from Australia. And currently JET is the best australian band, internationally. I know that they're quiet big in the states. The music that they play is rock 'n roll, yes rock 'n roll. Theyre not big enuff to change or create new culture (like oasis did) but i just wana know wat u think about them

Much too hype on them. They surely have some catchy songs (which I often find myself singing), however, it's rather boring how they're just rip-offs. AHEM AHEM... pls dont start talkin about "rip offs"... I mean, our own beloved OASIS copied lotsa beatles songs... "who feels love" sounds like "tomorrow never knows"... Hindu times... almost the same chords a rolling stones' "street fighting man".... "dont look back" = Imagine (lennon's)... .... SEE !!!!!! |

there r so many awesome unsugned talent here! were not a big country as far as population n record signing people so of course americans r gunna have way more bands around, plus our 'european' history is only just over 100 years old, so we r still only starting!! you wait till we have been around as long as america then say sumthing about aussie bands!

there rubbish imo, they havnt got one tune that makes me go "yeh thats fuckin amazing" ive heard the album and its an album of half, almost tunes, to much hype like a lot of bands out at the moment.
The press desperately want a new rock n roll band but there is no one good about so they hype up over acheiving pub bands like jet. When a new great rock n roll band comes out you'll no it straight away and youll look back at this time when you thought jet were great with confusion as to what all the fuss was about.

I agree with you on your aussie bands statement. There are just so many bands, Jebediah and The Vines to name few. It's well known how the latter still owe Capitol for their debut wasn't as good as they expected, leave alone 'Winning Days'. To keep this Jet-related, 'Are you gonna be my girl' is overplayed hence the other singles having no spotlight for themselves. I'm particularly fond of other songs, such as Look what you've done. I might as well clear up that the whole rip off thing was due to certain magazines and people calling them the new big thing that's created great stuff, opinion that we all happen to disagree with here.  |

I own their debut album and they do have some good tunes,but too much of the music sounds sounds the same. Same drum pattern, heavy guitar, you can easily get songs mixed up. They remind alot of the Strokes when they first hit the scene because of their unique sound. Jet is as Rock N Roll as any band is gonna get these days though. Longer lasting than the Strokes I feel.
