PETE LIBERTINE PLEADS NOT GUILTY
LIBERTINES guitarist PETE DOHERTY has pleaded not guilty to possession of an offensive weapon.
Doherty made a brief appearance at Thames Magistrates Court (June 29), where he’s facing the charge.
The court heard that the alleged incident happened on Hackney Road, London E2.
Pete, dressed in a grey suit, was supported in court by a number of friends, including Alan McGee, the band’s manager.
By pleading not guilty Doherty will now have to return to the same court on August 10 for a preliminary hearing.

if you're guilty, you're guilty. just because you're in a good band doesn't mean you're innocent.

Its just what you want on the streets isn't it...
Some dirty smashed up skag head with a knife in his pocket
Im sorry mate, a great band they are, but he's gotta sort himself out before he goes all Richey Manic (or Sid Vicious come to think of it).

heard "albion" yet columbia?
hoping to see em next weekend at the festival.
the appeal to me is something that is gone in british music to-day. a throwback to days before mobile phone company's and designer labels sucked the life out of an entire generation.
what was the offensive weapon anyway? a pair of winklepicker shoes??

A knife
I dont know about you but I dont trust people who are on heroin. Especially if that person is also carrying a knife. Know what I mean. If i walked down the street and some skag head stabbed me, I'd be a tad pissed off.

Carrying a knife usually means whoever is carrying it has some sort of intention to use it. people who carry them say 'it's for protection' and all that shite but when it comes to it deep down they must have an intention of using it. Most of the 'knife carriers' are indenial about it though.
And i don't think people should be down trodden because they are addicted to an illegal substance.

Im not 'down tredding' on him. Its just people like pete need to be told: 'if your gonna keep using this shit you're gonna fucking die one way or another'. And if pete wants to live he will get off it. If he doesn't want to live he'll keep taking it. Hes just got to make up his mind and if he thinks anyone in there right mind is going to feel sorry for him then he's got another thing coming. The people around him who care about him should say ' your my mate, but if you keep taking this shit im gonna fuckn kidnap you and lock you in a room for a month'
Pete said the other day something like 'its not me its the people around me'. Well if I was pete i'd fucking move into a plush london apartment (with a shower!) and fuck the rest of those losers off (coz it aint as if hes not got the money, even tho he still decides to look like a tramp) and concerntrate on whats important: His kid, his health and his new album.

Just one thing: people should really read William Burroughs and stuff like that in order to understand more about what it's like being where Pete Doherty is right now. It's not like he chose to be a junkie, we're all weak in our own ways. He said somewhere that there were two things he knew, that QPR is the best football club and that drugs won't kill him, but his inner demons might. Good luck with that QPR(as if life wasn't difficult enough for him already).
