there ain't no such thing as "best band in the world" rite now just because every band is playing almost the same thing.
new bands are ripping 70's sound off, and old bands are just playing the same thing tehy played in their early years.
this isn't bad at all, but there isn't any band that heads the rest, I think.

Apart from my all time favourite bands (Oasis, Jam, Stones, Roses, Pistols ETC.......) No one really floats my boat. I'm liking NERD and Outkast at the moment but I wouldn't consider them as the best band in the world right now. I would say RHCP, but they've done a few shit gigs recently. Libertines, maybe? Franz Ferdinand are cool but that singers got to change his haircut.
Ok i'll make me mind up.................er.....Kings Of Leon (probably).

For me its The Libertines hands down
Its good to see a band who play small gigs just for the hell of it.
Their rough production make them stand out from all the mundane squeaky clean bands that infect todays charts.
Just listen to the intro to new single Can't Stand Me Now.

When I have to look at all those band who are hot at this moment (which Oasis unfortunally isn't at the moment) i'd have to say it's Jet, Coldplay and the Stereophonics. Hopefully those little bastards from Manchester will come up with a hot new album so they'll spoil the rest away. Oasis will stay no.1

For me, best band is the band I like the most of those currently active. So that honor goes to Oasis.
Biggest band is a little different. I'll only consider rock (in the loosest sense of the word) bands, so I'll say that right now the biggest band in the world would have to be Coldplay or Radiohead.
