2003 was definitely coldplays year, so true..
right behind came the stripes and the strokes and radiohead that had a successful year '03
but as for first quarter of 2004..i'd say d12...i dunno...are franz ferdinand the only ones that have an album out rite now?

i like jet, but they are no were the best band in the world. the strokes are pushing for that hounour, and also if you listen to some of ryan adams stuff i think you would agree he is a special talent.

I'd personally have to say RHCP, Coldplay, Incubus, and Radiohead are the bestbands of today. I wouldn't consider Oasis far back after Heathen Chemistry.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers! No one said it had to be a new band.. Oasis a close second tho I don't really like their last 2 albums as much as the first three + masterplan

you's were saying bands liek oasis n rhcp, n how long have they been around!! The question is who's the best band in the world right now? That doesn't mean they have to be new does it? Oasis will always be the best band in the world to me

Jet?? Are you kidding? They are ok but not the best band in the world... It has to be either oasis or radiohead!

The question is who's the best band in the world right now? That doesn't mean they have to be new does it? Oasis will always be the best band in the world to me i dont think it has to be a new band - but the question is different from simply asking - who are your fave band? to me, the best band in the world right now are whichever band is at the absolute pinnacle of their talent - and Oasis are not. Oasis were in 1994 to 1996. Before that REM were from 89 to 95. The only bands at their peak that i know of are Coldplay and RHCP.

Jet? you've go to be kidding me. How many bands have made a sound like that? 1000000? Their credibility is shit.

yeah it was a bit of a premature statement to say jet are the best band in the world, but no doubt at one point i think they will be. and as much as i love oasis they aren't the best band in the world anymore, maybe when this new album comes out they will be back on top... but the best band right now really probably is coldplay, fucken brilliant they are

lol, jet have 1 good song and it is an advert before it was a song.
they aint very good judging by the album.
to me the queens of the stoneage are the first band with true classic songs for this era!
no one knows is the very first great classic of this new era!
clocks is a good song but not great!
roll on the next album, hope it can cut it.
the queens are a very special band.

Oasis (of course) i'd probably say RHCP other than them, i'd say it is one of the well defined rock bands, i don't really think that Franz Ferdinand or Jet have proved anything yet

Jet hasn't proved anything except that they're one of the most boring bands around and rip everyone off!

they are a very good live band. their album isnt bad. its a bit samey at times, but its good fun rock n roll. they arent harming anyone.

Post by shakermaker1251 on Jun 2, 2004 16:16:15 GMT -5
they aren't harming anyone but the music industry by producing crap like that. they didn't impress me live but it sounded better than the album. the album isn't worth buying.
