Only just recently started listening to some of Led Zep's stuff- and been very impressed! i've heard a lot of songs before obviously, but i've only just started properly listening to them and i've been surprised by just how good they were, before their time really. 'The Immigrant song' is excellent - sounds sooo modern.(the live version anyway, studio isnt quite the same) Its obvious what John Squire/Stone Roses influences were. I know there are some big Zeppelin fans around here so i'm looking for some more recommended tracks to check out? And before anyone says it - yes, i've heard Stairway to heaven Plus already have Black Dog, Kashmir and Heartbreaker.(all awesome) any others i should get?

communication breakdown (not the bad ass cover by black sabbath!) rock and roll four sticks the song remains the same hot dog thank you good times bad times over the hills and far away d'yer mak'er TOTP theme
as for albums i'd recommend "led zeppelin I" or "II" for a start.."presence" and "coda" do not belong to their best ones IMO

Ten Years Gone is a personal fave...goes through a lot of their talents... definitely. although it's one of their sadder songs, it shows how amazing they were as a group, and that's why i give them so much respect for not rejoining after so many offers for money, etc. jimmy's solos are unbelievable in ten years gone, and the ultimate version of that song (in my opinion, obviously) was when they played it at knebworth in 1979.

Led Zeppelin is amazing. They're one of the best rock bands of all time for sure. I don't think I have many more reccommendations than already posted though.

Does anybody remember Kalas?!?!?!?!? Unfortunately He was alright at one time. I don’t know what was up with him, but he seemed to lose the plot all of a sudden. He ended up a bit of a bugger, by the time the mods kicked him out.

The first two album's I ever heard, I was around 6 years of age. One was Led Zeppelin debut album and the other was Dire Straits Brother's in Arms (a great album). The Zeppelin debut album, if a band set out with a statement from the blocks it was Zeppelin. Dazed and Confused, Communcation Breakdown, Good Times Bad Times, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You. Top notch. You can see why they became one of the biggest band's ever. Not a duff album either imo. That live DVD set How The West Was Won, is a must own. Zeppelin were the greatest live act ever.
