they are ok, nothing more nothing less well looked forward to their album, was very dissappointed when i got it, like 4 good choons, the rest is too slow for a rock n roll band IMO not the vibe im looking for

so, are you saying that they dont live up to the hype?
still, they are slightly better than the stokes (the future of rock n roll)
when the next big thing comes along it will hit you like a brick wall to the face!

Not wanting to create any conflict (again) MTF. But Jet, to me, are a really tight band, they've got the look, they've got a lot of good tunes, and they are more rock n roll then the strokes will ever be.

so, one good song and a good look makes a great rock n roll band?
the song has already been sold off to an advert.

Yeah, i missed that one, fair play to you mate. That is lower than michael jackson. Selling your song to vodafone to make a quick buck. Thats sickening. Thats the opposite of rock n roll. Thats pop / dance / rnb. Rock n roll dont need that one bit.
Just when you think theres a good, proper rock n roll band about, they go and do something fucking daft.

as you said tomo man, dont wanna create any confilct.. but the strokes arent really rock n roll as such, its a punky, idie, rock type sound.. they just turn up, play and go home. no messing around. i like it, its so simple!

the stokes are a bunch of rich kids with nothing better to do!
jet and the stokes are dull music.
look at kelly and jack osbourne. why are they famous?
liam gallagher for all of his flaws refuses point blank to sell oasis songs for adverts and said that fat boy slim should go and fuck himself if he thinks that he is going to remix songs that they put out as a finished product.
one of the reasons why i love the guy.

plus, we've already heard it all before. i'd rather listen to the originals
ok, oasis rip off every band they like, but they at least put some fresh air in it while jet and the likes have no attitude, no personality nor originality. you wont hear anything at least slightly interesting from their mouths.
there are good new bands there though, for example the darkness but thats because theyre fun and have loads of singalongs, you can hardly call them or any other new band around the next best thing though, can you

jet are brilliant, the strokes are even better. and i dont no how anyone can say the strokes are ripping anyone off! who? But the libertines are the band of the moment, theyve got attitude, theyve got good songs, and they are real

i wouldnt compare jet to the strokes. jet are basically a tribute band.
nicking the drums off "lust for life" aint very original yet the song has a certain groove. the album is pish.

you have to admit that noel plunders from only the best though. i am growing to love the darkness, bought the x-mas single to make it no 1. bastard donny darko song robbed em. the most interesting band around at the moment for me is queens of the stoneage. the desert sessions with a bunch of likeminded people just making great music with no strings attached. anyone shelved out 3 english pounds for a jet ringtone yet?

i am growing to love the darkness okay, no more beer for the next 2 weeks! the thing that attracts some many youngsters to jet is that completely live up to the tradition of good rip-off bands. and being good is what the harmless are lacking o

dont agree starfish, i think they are attracted to the next cool band thing.
most people like to be in the in crowd and agree with each other about cool music. even if it is shite!
i go to gigs these days and cant even get a can of beer in, fuck sake, they take the plastic bottle tops off your coke bottle just incase you throw it and it hurts somebody?
then you are bombarded with nokia ads and a bunch of kids waving picturemobiles taking piccys of the band from a zillion miles away.
so fucking safe and not a healthy place to spawn a great rock n roll band at all.
great rock n roll comes from seedy little clubs with the smell of blood in your nostrils, broken glass and the stench of humid sweat and an uneasy threat of violence in the air as the band takes the stage.
music is so safe and controlled these days. god bless nokia for that.
aiste, thanks for saying what you think! always good to go against the flow.
