Decent band, no more than that IMO!
They don't have a distinctive sound which is IMO what makes a band great! If I heard their lead vocalist I wouldn't instantly go 'oh yeah that's him' whereas any song with Liam, Richard Ashcroft etc. on vocals is instantly recognisable!
Anyone agree?

That debut is still one of the best debuts ever, and one of my favourite albums ever. Proud to say it was the first album I ever bought. Everything in my music collection with angular guitar riffs and indie pop melodies I owe to them.
Plus Alex Kapranos is one of the coolest guys in the world.

I've seen them only once in 2009, mainly because The Cribs (with Johnny) supported them. I agree with matt. I still love their debut album. I had tickets for them with Sparks 2 years ago, but due to a tiny health issue back in time, I couldn't make it. They're playing over here early next year. I need to check their new material first before purchasing a ticket.
