COLDPLAY star Chris Martin last night told of his joy at eloping with pregnant girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.

He said he loved his secret wedding in California two weeks ago to the Oscar-winning actress.

Chris, 26, said: "I guess you can say we eloped. It was great because we got married without any fuss."

They married in a hotel in Santa Barbara without friends or family.

But Chris said: "I'd have eloped even if I wasn't famous and ran a shop."

Chris said he and Gwyneth, 31 - who met 18 months ago - were a normal couple who wanted a normal life. He added: "Everyone says my wife and I are miserable but we're not. We're happy people."

He joked about calling the baby Liam or Noel after the Gallagher brothers from Oasis who have ridiculed him in the past.

But he insisted their child would be brought up in London not the United States.

He said: "I sometimes get fed up with the attention here but it would never make me give up my home."

noel has never said a bad thing about chris. they are good mates. noel did the fairplay gig with him. it was a really fun night. i got free tickets.
liams the one that has said some comments about chris being a student wa*ker. or words to that effect.

From what I've heard Noel and Chris Martin are alright with each other and have a good mutural respect. From the bits I've seen of the Fair Trade gig they looked to be having a right laugh!

As for him and Liam....erm...well...you know what I mean ;D
