JOHN SQUIRE has confirmed two UK shows to support his new solo album.
The former Stone Roses guitarist, who releases ‘Marshall’s House’ on February 9, will play two UK dates in February, the first since playing Manchester’s Move festival last July.
Squire plays Glasgow King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on February 1 and London Islington Academy on February 2.
‘Marshall’s House’ takes its inspiration from 20th Century American Realist Edward Hopper, with each track taking its name and inspiration from a different painting. A single, ’Room In Brooklyn’, comes out a week earlier.

am i the only one who feels that the roses totally had it all and wasted it?
whats the point going to see ian brown and john squire doing drab solo shit when they should have been the biggest band in the world 10 years ago.
they blew it bigtime. fuck, did they blow it! fuck both of them.

isn't that the reason for the whole aura surrounding the roses?
a lot of their popularity now comes from people who wonder "hmmm how big could have they been?"
then again they could of put out a crap lp afterwards so its good that they left on a high note.

no its not! its 60% crap- make that 70% crap.
five years to make that? they just couldnt deliver the goods but dropping out of glastonbury and oasis filling the gap really launched the brothers.
if the roses had played on that night after oasis i think oasis would have blown them away!
i have the spike island gig and it is nothing special.
just go with the myth, its better than the band really was.
