Justin Hawkins to deliver MTV's alternative Christmas message
Justin Hawkins from The Darkness is to deliver an alternative Christmas message at 3pm on Christmas Day.
He goes head to head with the Queen on BBC1 and ITV1 and Victoria Beckham who will be giving Channel 4's alternative Christmas message.
MTV says Justin will be twiddling his orb, rubbing his sceptre and tossing his locks as he ruminates over whether 2003 has been an "anus horriblis".
Justin's message includes some typically modest self-promotion: "This time last year I was a music nobody. Today I sit at the top of the music tree, feeling pretty good."
He added: "Another major highlight of 2003 was when we headlined Knebworth with Mr Robbie Williams as our warm-down act.
"Despite the fact that we upstaged him in a pretty dramatic way, Robbie was extremely gracious in accepting a lesson in rock, administered by The Darkness - until the point that his cool friends like Max Beasley turned up, that is, and he dropped us like a hot potato."
He also gives viewers some important life advice: "I've learnt that if you're stout of heart, solid of mind and you stand tall and cheer up everything works out for the best."
And he concludes with his hopes for 2004: "Touring with Charlotte Church? We can but dream."

What a complete knobhead.
If I was Cat Deeley I'd sue Noel for deformation of character!

bollocks, the guy knows how to take the piss. the darkness make me laugh out loud a lot.
we have coldplay, travis , radiohead, etc...... playing dull drab grey songs and then a band that reminds us of queen come along and put on a real over the top live show.
its great fun.
music can be fun, you know. we listen to music for pleasure.
