OZZY OSBOURNE has been seriously injured in a bike crash.
The singer has broken eight ribs and a vertebra in his neck after crashing the bike on his Buckinghamshire country estate yesterday (December 8).
He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital where he underwent emegency surgery, and is now said to be in a stable state. It is thought that the operation was to lift his collarbone, which was not allowing blood to flow into his arm properly. His left collarbone has now been reconstructed.
Speaking outside the hospital, a spokesperson said: "Mr. Ozzy Osbourne was brought in yesterday following an accident at home. He had a fractured left collarbone, he had some damage to the blood vessel that lies underneath it, he had eight fractured ribs on the left side and in addition to that he has a small, entirely stable fracture of one of the vertebrae in his neck.
"This morning he will be seen by the doctors who are taking care of him. They will reassess him and make decisions as to what his treatment should be next."
Ozzy is due to play a rescheduled UK tour in February 2004. It is curently unclear how the accident will effect the shows.

Sharon Osbourne said her husband stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating for nearly two minutes after the accident at their Buckinghamshire mansion on Monday.
The 51-year-old told the Daily Mirror that her husband fell off his quad bike as he drove over some uneven ground and the bike then landed on top of him.
He was saved by the actions of his security guard who happened to be with him at the time.
"He had stopped breathing and the guard spotted it immediately," she told the newspaper. "He resuscitated him and got him breathing and his pulse going again. We are so, so grateful to him."
Osbourne suffered a fractured vertebra, eight fractured ribs and a broken collarbone in the accident.
Sharon Osbourne said doctors had still not been able to determine whether he had suffered any lasting damage.
"The doctors are hoping there hasn't been any lasting damage but until Ozzy can actually come round and get off the ventilator and then they will know," she said.
She also criticised comments by Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell, who suggested the accident would help Osbourne's record sales.
Cowell later apologised: "I had no idea that Ozzy was far more seriously ill. I apologise unreservedly for the way it has been put across."
