Did anyone see the video for that other 1 they did with kate moss as a pole dancer in the video. That video for me was better than all their songs put together. It was like daytime porn on mtv

but the queens were last year listenup, so that dont count!
they have done nothing new this year sadly.
daysleeper, i dont see how you can call the stripes gimmicky when all they are doing is following on in a long tradition of american garage bands, plus the british bands who looked up to such bands.
i blame pink floyd for ruining you.

i cant understand why u dont like pink floyd their fantastic. Listen to songs like hey you and comfortably numb and u will gain some respect for them at least. Their lyrics are better then any other band in history as far as im concerned just class. The Wall is one of the best album's ever made its like art/music.

First It Giveth was released as a single this year and Josh Homme (singer of QOTSA) has got Desert Sessions which have released an album this year and Nick (bass for QOTSA) has Mondo Generator

and art has no place in rock n roll!
art and soft rock perhaps but dont try to con us that pink floyd are rnr coz they aint!
you will never see t-rex hanging up in the lourve gallery.
there is a beauty in rock n roll that so-called art fans will never see.
a genious in its own rawness.

daysleeper, i dont see how you can call the stripes gimmicky when all they are doing is following on in a long tradition of american garage bands, plus the british bands who looked up to such bands. i think you misunderstand me - i don't think that being a garage band is the gimmick. But stuff like wearing the red and white striped clothes is. And their lack of a bass player, the whole married/divorced/brother and sister thing as well. i also hate the fact that she sings lead vocals sometimes during live gigs- she has a god awful voice, and she only sings because people think its cool its great to see so many pink floyd fans around here! definitely lyrics are Floyd's strong point, but the guitar playing of David Gilmour is awesome. as for the Queens of the Stonage - i like First it Giveth, but personally i can't see how they will ever top No One Knows back to Floyd - i'm not saying they are Rock n Roll. They're hard to categorise - they're pretty unique. i don't like people calling them 'prog rock' most people who say that have never heard a Floyd album in their life. Music is an art form. its a way of expressing yourself, the same as any other art form is. And art is all down to opinion so yeah there are some people who won't appreciate the finer points of rock n roll. just as there are people who can't appreciate poetry, paintings etc

ok, pink floyd fans and garage punk fans.
pink floyd is about hard core perfection in musical excelence.
dave gilmore is a control freak!
me, i love anarchy in music. out of tune guitars, who gives a fuck! bad sound quality! so what. as long as it sounds good. the punk ethic!
the white stripes sound good and have a rock n roll history behind them.
they know about billy childish and the milkshakes and that i find very cool.
pink floyd are an island who never let the outside in! fuck em!
