i was wondering when a darkness thread would appear - they're in america at the moment so maybe that will raise their profile a bit - although whether thats a good thing or not is another matter!
they're funny - the videos are cool in a really campy bad 80's sense. the lead singer desperately wants to be Freddie Mercury
i like "i believe in a thing called love"
they're ok - pretty harmless. good guitarists. but i don't think i could stand listening to one of their albums - too much of too much

I think these days theres too much critisism for bands that dont re-invent rock and roll. With the Darkness they are basically Freddy Mercurys sole inhapiting the body of the lead singer. When its as good as the Darkness who really cares if its just copying or not there are people as young as me on this forum who never got to go see a classic Rock band like Queen the Darkness are bringing it back to life and theyve got a lot of passion

every member should go out to their video store right now and rent the movie spinal tap , you'll piss in your pants if your sober or die laughing if your drinking your favorite drug....... ( if you don't enjoy it I'll have to give you a prize.... ) it's a mockumentary about a 70s/80s hair band whose amps go to 11 , and as the singer's girlfriend asks :" Did we use Dobly on this take?" you'll want to run out and form your own band.....

It's Daysleepers fav band so let him choose the one to stay alive. ;D you know fine well thats not true! but i'd be happier if we just let all the threads live - only one is currently in use anyway. plus choco - you're not even an official mod on this particular board, so take your wilco-thread-closing ass elsewhere!! ;D but you're right -this forum needs Wilco as much as it needs Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, Gareth Gates, REM, Me and all the other things you guys just love to hate!!

are the stories true that the american stores would'nt stock the darkness album because there was a naked butt on the cover, so the band agreed to change it?
aparently the new cover has a big pair of tits instead!
thats also very "spinal tap"

ONE person left on the planet who isn't a DARKNESS fan - JON BON JOVI. The one-time rocker admits he has a copy of their debut album Permission To Land but won't be going back to his old rock 'n' roll image. He says: "I won't be getting back into that. I won't be growing my hair again." Thank you, God

The dude from Placebo dont like um either i sore on CDUK.
As for the best debut album ever i brought it the other day and I DONT THINK SO! There are about 3 brilliant songs on it and the rest are average. Its no Parachutes, Pablo Honey or Definatly Maybe. However they are a quality band and i look forward to seeing them live, plus they could break through the pop bariar and give the Rock bands more publicity. They were No 2 in the charts thats pretty good for a Rock band!

the darkness are vastly overated for their music but who cares.
they are a wonder to watch when they play live. nobody has dared to be that over-the-top in years.
they make me laugh.

THE DARKNESS PLAN AMERICAN RETURN Following the success of THE DARKNESS' recent trip to AMERICA, the band have pledged to return in NOVEMBER for bigger shows. Singer Justin Hawkins made the announcement from the stage during the band's star-packed gig at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, the last date of their mini American tour. The pledge comes on the eve of the band's 22-date tour of the UK and Ireland, kicking off on October 2 in Dublin.
