man i'm soooooo jealous!!! in fact i can barely speak right now i'm so jealous! (although there are others i'm jealous of as well, which is adding to my pain! shadow knows ) i'm happy for you though - you've discovered the worlds greatest band! glad you had a great night, the setlist looked amazing - all the hits plus some new stuff. god i'm drooling here! ;D not sure which song you're talking about though? with shotgun in the lyrics? but the setlist - Losing my Religion, Electrolite, Find the River. 3 of the best songs ever written, played back to back. unbelievable. i would of loved to have been there. i've never seen them live yet and if i never do - i'll regret it forever. they're playing in New York in October. If only i had a sexy, gorgeous babe to take me......... *cough* *cough* *COUGH*

its so hard to recommend a particular REM coz they're all quite different. if you're a casual fan, wait for the greatest hits which is out in september i think (with new single Bad Day!!!!) the tracklist for the greatest hits will be amazing. plus there will be 2 or 3 new songs. and the new ones are brilliant (they're available online) you can't go wrong with 'Automatic for the People'. if you like Be Here Now, get 'Monster' - its BHN but much better! 'Up' is my fave REM album but its very hard to get into. And 'New Adventures in Hi Fi' is excellent and a lot more accessible. i'd go for Automatic, followed by New adventures i should mention that i will be buying REM's greatest hits for shadowboxer, whether she wants it or not! i'll convert her into a fan if it kills me!! ;D

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3 7:00 A.M. ET - REM performs live Actor Rob Lowe talks about his new NBC drama, “The Lyon’s Den.” REM performs live on the Plaza as parts of the “Today” 2003 Toyota Concert Series. Im sure DS wishes he was still in NY. Although 7 am is a bit early for him. ;D
