Any ideas why Cold Play seems to appeal to a broader US audience than Oasis at the moment ? Is Rock out and Softer in ? What do you think?

I'm not sure about this but I think that people take Coldplay more serious. Liam's voice worsened and Oasis just don't seem to improve. Coldplay haven't been as succesful Oasis have been in the past and maybe some people began that the members of Coldplay are more talented.
In my opinion "Heathen Chemistry" seems to be quite crappy if you compare it to "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" or "Parachutes".

I have to disagree. Although Liam has had some vocal issues, he sounded amazing this summer at the Roseland, better then the past few years I have seen them when they came to NY . Coldplay is good, but I would categorize them along the lines of Travis, and that type of music and sound does not have the longevity that an Oasis does. Maybe Coldplay should tour with Oasis and we can really compare??

I haven't heard them playing at Roseland but I have listened to a couple of concerts which took place in Europe. ...ridiculous... And I wouldn't compare Coldplay to Travis because, in my opinion, it's a completely differerent style. Actually, I don't really knwo a band which could be compared to Coldplay but I think that some old songs by Radiohead might be similiar to Coldplay.....

I did not get a chance to see Coldplay when they were here in NY, but I will be sure to try and see them when they come around again. I can't say I am an avid listener, but I do like a few songs. What are your thoughts on Travis?? I saw them with Oasis, and I thought they put on a good show.

well, oasis and coldplay are in the same genre, but truly different musically. both chris martin and noel gallagher are amazing songwriters though.
