THE VINES were axed from an edition of a US chat show after they trashed the studio during rehearsals.
The band were rehearsing their song 'Outtathaway!' in the afternoon before they were due to appear in the 'Tonight Show With Jay Leno', when singer Craig Nicholls started smashing the plexiglass barrier surrounding the drums and, according to mtv.com "causing general destruction".
As a result their scheduled performance was axed from last night's programme (December 9), and it was broadcast without a live band, which is a regular slot on the show.

if they would have approached it slightly smarter they still could have trashed the set, I don't know why you would want to smash NBC studio equipment during a soundcheck... save the drama for the live taping ..duh i love the vines but they got shot down this time

I heard that they had a little too much of the preshow booze, but regardless, timing is everything, and in this case they screwed it up. I still don't see the cause for any of the drama. What a waste. They would have added to the show if their performance would have been able to air.
