I think Zak's simplified, back-to-basics drumming suits Oasis now, but wouldn't have done in the early days. I reckon it makes the band seem like they're matured over the years - songs like Acquiesce and Wonderwall had been played reasonably fast live up until Alan was replaced, now Zak plays them at more or less the same speed as the album versions. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it all, but what do you think?

Whitey, both of them (even though you are talking about Oasis)

Give me White Brothers anyday. Never seen Alan playing, but saw Zak twice and Steve once. Steve White - What a drummer is that. Zak is a great drummer, especially technically, but there's something he doesn't own, but Alan does. ZAK RULES ! I want him served naked on a mirror ! I'll send him to you tonight Tam. Be kind and gentle to him.

Saw him with the Who. Sorry but Zarkey blows Alan away.

zak starkey, by far. i've been saying this since day one... he's the best drummer in rock 'n' roll today. when alan left, in a poll here, my #1 choice to replace him was zak. he didn't upset me!

Zak is better. I've seen him live twice and I dont know how Alan could improve what he did. He seemed to have 4 or 5 hands! like an octopus ;D

I don't see what you guys mean.
Sure, Zak can be heavier and whatnot, but Alan has the technical ability and that's really what comes through on the albums
Live I suppose I'd have to do with Zak, but I mean... he's not too good with the older material (view my previous post)
