Hmm... I had to do a presentation on this a couple of years ago. I said I agreed with it then, but now I disagree with it. I don't see it as something a civilised society would do, pretty barbaric whatever method you use.
And I think that the person who has killed someone may have 'destroyed' the life of the victim's family, but why should another death happen which would 'destroy' the murderers family? - Its not their fault, they shouldn't suffer a loss.
Personally I'd just let them rot away in a cell, who knows they may be proven innocent one day, which has been the case a couple of times I think.
Anyway, two wrongs don't make a right do they? Sounds like a good quote to end my point. Who said that anyway?

child molestors for example deserve the death penalty.. end of story... it's a disease and it cannot be cured.

I agree child molesters & serial murderers...why waste tax payers money keeping these fiends alive, when most will never leave prison. A prime example is the Yorkshire Ripper, It costs thousands a week to keep him protected in jail...Why waste the money??

Well I always think that if you kill somebody then how are you punishing them?
They're not gonna know that they are dead!
I'd rather see people like murderers and peodophiles kept in prison until they die, and it should be the most uncomfortable, inhopistable place you could think off.
That to me would be more of a punishment, kinda like mental torture.

I know, it must be terrible, I wouldnt even begin to pretend that I know how that must feel. Thats why they should never get out. A life sentence should mean life.

but it's not always the case!!!! the legal system is roten yes the legal system is roten, but it dosent make the death penalty acceptable i was just pointing out that life sentences are not always respected and releasing someone whereas he should stay in jail forever is like telling him: what you've done is not such a big deal and you can start again

Death penalty is fine in some cases, but I do think that some places do overuse it.

child molestors for example deserve the death penalty.. end of story... it's a disease and it cannot be cured. Thats a bit harsh IMO I mean, who would be our webm@ster if that was the law? But seriously you can't put them to death cos of that. Yes it is disgusting, but you can't put them to death. Many of the states need harsher first time offender punishment. Like 20 years minimum, and after they get out (if they do) they should be closely monitored. I don't have a prob with the death penalty for people who commit first degree murder.

No I don't agree with it. Because there's been many case's over turned in years gone by so if we still had the death penalty they would have died for nothing. But I do think that life should mean life in prison and not just so many years.
