I've noticed that on the board a lot of people refer to The Masterplan as an album. It's a compilation and for me that means it is not an album. An album is a group of songs that are recorded together to be part of a cohesive, flowing body of work, whereas a compilation is just sticking a bunch of songs on a CD.

its sold in virgin, hmv,fye ...its a album irrelevant They sell Bealtes 1 there. It's a compilation album that is so good that it simply rolls right through like a studio recording. My vote goes to "no"; however, I will point out that Masterplan has a better flow to it than Heathen Chemstry in my mind

I'll have to say no... it's a compilation, and a great one btw. I still don't get it how such songs ended up as b-sides. noel truly is one of the greatest songwriters of all time

It's not an album. I wish it was, it'd be a masterpiece and people wouldn't chat quite so much shit about Oasis

It should have been their 3th album in the summer of 1996. But it isn't, it is a compilation album

I would normally say that it's a compilation album, but then again, I have seen The Smiths' Hatful of Hollow and Louder Than Bombs included in Rolling Stone's list of top 500 albums ever released. I'd say The Masterplan is equally deserving of a spot in that list as well - not surprising that Rolling Stone disagrees with me though, didn't the fucktards give it 2.5 out of 5 in their review?
