i like the man, he had to do the iraq thing to keep the us relationship goin, cus without that the UK would be fcked, apart from that no one else deseves the job, his wife and kids are twats though, and although he may not be great , Labour are my party, even thou im from N.I and dont get a say

To say that is to deny reality The biggest endorsement of the conservative/Thatcher government is the fact that it completely destroyed the labour party and forced them to reinvent themselves. Thatcher did more for this country than any politician since Churchill and its sad that some people cant see that. Even Tony Blair knows it.... |

Thatchers policies brought this country to its knees twice in 11 years mate. And Im not gonna even start on her greatest achievement - the poll tax. I hate him cos he's a puppet and he's lost our own identity. Do you know right, me and my mates were in the pub during the last world cup and a scottish girl came over to serve us and she asked my mate to take his england flag off his back because she was offended!! He had it tied around sort of like a cape, there were loads of other lads in there who were wearing there flags. I've got nothing against the scottish at all but hang on, you're in our country...England, the world cup is on and you're telling me he's gotta take his flag off!? It just aint right. The Americans have flags flying from the front gardens for christ sakes!
Basically, the english have to try there hardest to make all these immigrants feel at home and not to offend them and its all down to Tony Blair and labour.
But then again, theres no point voting for anyone because they're all a bunch of liars.

I wont even go into the NHS and the police among other things. He's let immigrants walk in freely. I know someone who gets immigrants knocking on his door at midnight asking for money. Who wants to live in a world like that? Get this, a lot of shops have been told to stop selling christmas cards because it shows christ and the cross. You know why? Because it offends other religions. The scottish girl....I didn't mean to say she was an immigrant. It was the way I wrote it. I aint got any problems with anyone who wants to come over here to make a living / have a good life. But people I dont like are the ones who sponge off the state. And here's another fact. At the end of the day I think this country is losing its identity, thats all, and that is down to labour because they've made us live in a 'nanny state.' Anytime I see England playing a game at football, rugby, cricket etc you see many Union Flags with 'England' plastered on them, thats why I asked. Also, all the England national teams sing 'God Save The Queen' before games - the British national anthem. That kinda pisses the rest of us Brits off you know! Like I say, that girl was out of order if it was the St Georges cross. |

Alright so I'm Canadian so I don't really know much about British politics but I do have a few things to say
1) Margaret Thatcher
I don't know too much about her. However, I do know that she closed a bunch of mines and other unproductive measures. I don't want to seem harsh but this is how society advances, through creative destruction. If unproductive industries were not closed down we would not enjoy the standards of living we do today. The problem is taht doing this is harsh for the people whose jobs you are taking away. It is harsh but necessary so you have to do it as softly as possible.
With regard to the poll tax, WTF? This sounds like the most asinine idea ever!
2) Tony Blair. Iraq was retarded, don't get me started on that. But, coming from Canada, a nation devoid of eloquent speakers I almost wet myself when he spoke in the Canadian parliament. The man is a true orator! He can speak! I rate eloquence very highly, and since all politicians are liars I'd rather have an eloquent liar like tony blair than an idiot liar like Bush.
3) Finally with regard to the labour party and I suppose their permissive policies? that have lead to people claiming rights to not be offended.
That is dumb.
You don't have a right to not be offended. SImply because it is impossible for everyone to have a right to not be offended. Gays would outlaw straights and straights gays and that's just impossible.
