any band is excellent in the album, and what's good bout oasis is that they are not great at the tudio and crap live, they do both things good; but i have to say the studio versions are always better, anyway...

i think live, liam's voice is on and off, especially since 1997. he sounded best from 1994-1996. he can really do well now, but if you listen to hamburg 2003 or ftm, you can hear how off he can be.

A good band is always better live...but I was a bit dissapointed when I saw oasis live...(it was the time when noel and liam were arguin and a few days after liam lost his teeth) and they only played the songs, they almost didn't talk to the crowd..it was funny how noel looked to liam and how liam was drinking hot tea...but they sound great, I expected they played more songs...

I think you cant compare these 2. In the studio they can record it over and over angain untill theyre satisfied. Live: you gotta do it in one take.
And I think they do a great job seeing that most of their songs have grown a lot since they where written, just by playing it live and rehearse. They have a great sound live, completely different from the albumsound imo.

most songs come to life when played live and sound bloody good, while others sound a bit off, well vocally neway. (scyho for example)

It was me who voted 'both' being crap. I dont like any of the recorded material and i hate the band playing live.
I love oasis but only when the royal philharmonic orchestra play their songs, true genius!

anyways, back to the topic- i always rate a band by comparing them live to studio. when they're live, there's nothing to back them up, no second take or overdubs. that's how i judge a great band from just a band. and oasis is a great band. (but that goes without saying, especially on an oasis board)
and a lot of bands surprised me by how bad they are live. look at dylan for the past 25 years. i saw a show at msg in '01, he was horrible. never picked up an acoustic, played the harmonica once, and basically played piano the whole time. and he played covers- get this- don henley's the end of the innocence, and the stones' brown sugar. and the rockabilly songs? EEK! he's not the same as he used to be.
and lastly, robbie williams is a prick. your thoughts?
