U2 have been going years and years, and they are still respected in the industry and churning out the hits.
The Who are still a big box office attraction, albeit they haven't had a decent song in ages, but I don't think anyone considers them a laughing stock.
In ten years I don't expect Oasis to be still bringing out albums every 2-3 years however I would like to think they will still keep writing songs and touring every so often.

as for the who, it all seems like a joke that they are back out playing, they quit over 20 years ago, they shouldn't be out touring, i want to remember them for their classic shit. okay, i just saw their madison square garden concert a week ago. i've been to bruce springsteen, oasis, lou reed, dylan, lynyrd skynyrd, ac/dc shows, but the who was the greatest of them all. did you even see the concerts this year? if you didn't, read the reviews, which pretty much say it all. they are still the best live band in the world. as for the classic stuff, they play it all. my generation, stuff from quadrophenia, tommy, and who's next, magic bus, i can't explain, the list goes on and on. can't judge a book by its cover. one last thing: the band that SHOULD be quitting touring are the stones. THAT is a joke. i saw them too- msg- the one hbo filmed, and it was horrible.

Noel doesn't want to do it for much more, and I reckon Liam's voice will be completely gone in a decades time aswell.

Oasis should not be around in 10 years. I do hope you meant to say they 'would not' be around. Because they should always be around. Whether they will or not......who knows??!

they've gotta stick it out, they can become the next stones i dunno...i dont think i'd like to see oasis end up like the stones oasis are one of the best bands around and ever will be. they dont need to keep touring to prove anything, they've made their mark, and they'll always be remembered. i mean im sure they'll always be damn good live, but it would ruin our memories of oasis if you saw liam and noel totally old with liams voice deteriorated... i guess it depends on the new material...if they have got amazing stuff, then sure, keep it coming! if not, better pack it in while you've still got a wonderful reputation to walk away with. no matter how fuckin brilliant their new work maybe, i dont think they'll ever be able to recreate that amazing phenomenon of the 90's - but thats got nothing to oasis or their music, its more that it is impossible to sustain that level of hype for very long periods of time. but i do believe, even if 'oasis' isnt around, im pretty sure all the members will be doing some music project or another in 10 years time.
