I found it a better film than the Force Awakens. The Tarkin CGI was good but no better than the models in the cutscenes for the Battlefield 1 game that came out in October. Not going to spoil but the other cgi character at the end had very wierd looking eyes and threw me off. Biggest advantage this movie has over TFA was it didn't bludgeon you with nolstalgia, the parts of the film that meld with A New Hope perfectly was great, especially explaining how their was a weakness in the Death Star which many fans had questions for. The omninity of the force also gave it more weight whereas in The Force Awakens it was kind of used as a nolstalgia crutch. It really felt like a more grounded story in this universe rather than one that relied on comic relief. Seeing a certain character from the prequels in this as well helped connect the saga better too and was nice to see. Tbh I never understood the questions about the 2m exhaust port in ANH. If you think about it, having that small a port on a space station the size of a moon is a feat of engineering, and needed Luke(one of the most natural force users ever) to blow it up. It did make for an excellent movie tho!

SPOILER......... That Tarkin CGI was unreal. Best I've seen in a film ever. Leia wasn't bad either. I thought it was ok. Humans are really difficult, and I give them credit for how front and center they put it. Loved the film!

I voted for The Fame last year. I stand by it. But I'm surprised that The Fame is winning but a fucking landslide because it gets slated on here..... Weird. It's like Killary vs Trump. Everybody is saying that they love Step Out/Killary and they are embarrassed to say that they actually prefer Fame/Trump. Step Out/Killary is everywhere, you get a feeling that it will win for sure but then you look at voting results and SURPRISE! I know you are probably joking, but as a The Fame supporter, no. No it's not.

In most cases people get offended if it fits their agenda. Either that or just oversensitivity, which is also a bad thing (like terrorism because of a fucking cartoon). Sternumman bastardnumber1 It's funny, usually the people telling others not to get offended or that people are oversensitive are the people that are either saying the shit or aren't affected by it.

This is some parody-level ignorance right here. Radical leftists screwed America? Oh yeah, it's all that public ownership and planned economy based on "From each according to ability, to each according to need" that did it. Nothing at all to do with the immense fucking power of fascist institutes known as corporations systematically destroying any semblance of community and togetherness, flooding public and psychological space with advertising, enslaving and controlling the third world, and having the American state bend over backwards to let them do it, even when that mean letting them destroy the envrironment our fucking species depends upon to live, or psychopathically affecting the lives of the working majority they are meant to represent. Nothing at all to do with the media monopolies on information and opinion, shifting the debate from the corrosive nature of capitalism and the root systemic cause of all our problems, onto fucking walls and Mexicans. Nothing to do with the incredible sense of meaningless alienation felt by hundreds of millions of working people who spend their entire lives working endless days of repetitive, soul-destroying tasks for ever-diminishing retirement funds. Nothing to do with the fact the entire political system is usually nothing more than a punch-and-judy show where you get to pretend your opinion matters by voting for one of the two establishment puppets dancing for the same corporate masters. Nothing to do with the prevalency of sexism, racism, prejudice, ignorance, and stereotyping in practically every corner of society - from wages, to media, to the fucking president of the United States. Nope, it was those pesky feminists and "radical leftists" who just want minorities to be treated with a bit of respect by people who lust for the good old days when you didn't have to think about what to call all these Nancy's and N*ggers. Yep, it's Political Correctness gone mad, alright! Nothing to do with the prevalency of sexism, racism, prejudice, ignorance, and stereotyping in practically every corner of society - from wages, to media, to the fucking president of the United States. This is what I take issue with. I think the majority of America is not sexist, racist or prejudice. I mean, we did vote in an African American president, didn't we? What significant examples of racism and sexism are you talking about? It's not a widespread problem anymore. It hasn't been for many, many decades. Not in the U.S at least. Now maybe that's inaccurate, because we did just vote in a president who is all of those things. I'm not calling you or any specific person a racist, but this is the kind of thinking that continues the systematic racism that does exist. It is true that it is not overt(at least it hasn't been until this election seems to have brought it to the surface) but it has remained. People don't like uncomfortable situations, so they don't talk about it and eventually people think that it has gone away. Don't get me wrong, progress has been made, or at least was made. But gender inequality, continued societal segregation through economic and social means and just plain stereotyping continues. If you can't see this, you are privileged, which is good for you personally, but as a society it sets us back. Just like I believe this election will set us back 30 years of social progress, what with electing a person who has depicted racism, sexist, and bigot ism. And with the Supreme Court likely to swing back staunchly Conservative within the next few years.

why in San Francisco are they waving a Mexican flag? I thought the protest is about the US elections. Says alot about their allegiance to US. I live in heavy populated area in WA that are Mexican, but Mexicans don't see the wrong claiming family members that live in Mexico or somewhere else on their taxes. All they care to get the higher tax returns, which is total tax fraud. Mexicans take advantage of all government programs. Lack of insurance coverage, especially with auto. Which causes coverage to go up. Entitlement for everyone to speak Spanish, which 90% of the country works with the language of English. Granted, many decent hard working people, but it's been hard for many Mexicans whom came to this country to understand the US isn't socialism society. Part of the divide. Other part, many younger Americans want socialism. Soviet Union was a great example of that system, which failed. They're expecting the government to step in as mom or dad to take care of them. Life is f.ucking cold, hard, and not an easy ride. You are responsible for yourself. You can't make a career or a life from McDonalds or Taco Bell or Walmart. Education, taking defeat to get up again to make something out of yourself. Expecting the small business owner to pay 15 an hour and health coverage will kill entrepreneurship and small businesses period. Trump is planning to do away with Predatory lending with real estate, education loans and credit loans. He also plans to do away the common core with education. I see with my own eyes kids are learning for test, practice for test and 5 months are doing test. Teachers are teaching for testing not teaching for learning. I'm sorry but you are totally incorrect about the Soviet Union being socialism. It was communism, which is majorly different. Communism frequently results in authoritarian dictatorships, which is what happened in the USSR and Stalin. Socialism as a concept has never been implemented, and an actual parallel to to what your general "younger americans" comment is Democratic Socialism, which is best described as the government many countries, such as Sweden and Finland have. As toward your just get an education comment, it's not that simple. Not all people are given the same opportunities. I am lucky, as an upper middle class white male to have had the ability to go to college, and not come out of it in crippling amounts of debt. Many others are not given that privilege.

There's a petition on change.org to plea to electors to vote Hillary on Dec. 19th. I mean it's probably 99% not going to change, but, it wouldn't hurt to let the representatives know how the public feels. It almost has 1 million signatures already. Not gonna happen. And unfortunately it would probably cause even more damage.

must say this forum makes me laugh, during the UK election, the highest vote here was labour yet conservatives won outright, when the brexit thread was started, the highest vote was to stay yet the uk is leaving now people have voted clinton yet trump has won. granted I dont think people really WANTED trump per say but its kind of hilarious how people make others feel stupid on here when most people clearly voted the other way. #respectopinions. I'm sorry, but no. I have no respect for the people that either didn't vote , or voted for Trump. I respected McCain, and I respected Romney. I considered voting for each of them in their elections. But this is different, and has enormous repercussions for my generation. A president has been elected who exhibits no admirable qualities. How am I supposed to look my future kids in the eye and tell them that you can mock disabilities and veterans, bully people, threaten women, degrade other races and religions and still be elected as the leader and representative of our country. This is a step back, not a change forward. When people say racism doesn't exist, it's because they aren't affected by it. America voted for racism last night. And as an upper middle class white citizen, I am likely to be less affected by this than most. I'm disgusted.

Fell In Love With A Girl .... Her Name Was Dani California... I fucking love this song! Ironically for this thread, MJLD was in fact probably a rip off of Waiting for the Sun by the Jayhawks, who opened for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers before the song was released. Still my second favorite band tho....

theater or I will riot, I've got no such choice in Canada where I live. But watching it in theater doesn't make it better. Unless you have a very good surround sound system, and a good video system with a blu ray player, it really does....

They had me excited by posting those clips of Noel saying what great fun the Be Here Now tour was, and how the album has garnered something like a cult following in more recent times; but no, the final thing comes out, and those clips aren't even there for some reason, and instead we've just got 30 minutes of more "this is shocking, that's not good enough" etc., etc. Fuck right off. I've heard it all before. I want Liam or Bonehead to get asked about the album again instead. Obviously, Noel can't separate the music from all the... other stuff - the stories of the album's drug-infused creation, the backlash it received afterwards, and so on. And that's fine, I get that. Before the album came out, he was hailed as a songwriting genius who was unable to write a song that wasn't completely brilliant, and after it, that illusion was shattered for everyone, and things all started to go a bit pear-shaped. But it sort of feels like he's not at much liberty to keep talking about the album when he obviously holds such a bias. But then again, if the interviewer had been even slightly capable, Noel might've had to offer more insight than just his default "it was fucking chaos!". As it was, the guy just served up quotes that aligned with Noel's standpoint on the album, and laughed along to all his jokes, and nodded his head the whole time, like he was fucking Churchill the dog, and subsequently, we got yet another Noel interview where we learnt nothing new. Is this the first time he talked badly about Alan White's drumming and time keeping?

The Fame - Mustique Demo is much fucking better than the final product. Much crisper. Don't get why so many people hate The Fame. Perfect BHN song with regards to spirit and sound. Great song! I love the euphoria of the chorus "and I'm howling at the moon, is my happening too deafening for you?" Just a fun track.
