Why don't people like Oasis' cover of Heroes? It's Noel's euphoric Be Here Now voice belting it out. Love it. It's lifeless...feels like a reject song that is a actually a demo (reminds me of Angel Child in fact)

Ranking the track 9s:
1. She's Electric 2. Digsy's Dinner 3. I Can See A Liar 4. Keep The Dream Alive 5. Be Here Now (sorry but for me the album version is boring...if it was more like it was live, it would be top) 6. She Is Love 7. Ain't Got Nothin

I'm starting to suspect that Sunday Morning Call is pretty drab no matter what you do to it. Sunday Morning Call has some of Noels best lyrics. The only problem with it is that it followed on from Where Did It All Go Wrong and if it had been earlier in the album with Liam sung songs either side, it wouldn't be a problem I feel. Besides, I think the production on the track suits the mood of the song

Oh, God, yeah, it was a single. That was the only double-A the band ever did, too, right? If there's one change I could make to the Oasis timeline, it'd be for a Some Might Say/Acquiesce double A-side to be the only double A-side the band did, and not Little by Little/She is Love. That's a travesty that LBL/SIL was the only double A-side with how many great B-sides there were in the '90s that could've been hits as an A-side. The biggest problem I had and still have with Little By Little/ She Is Love double a-side is the fact that it came when there was only 2 b-sides then and the fact they used up the valuable space on the single with a track also on the album and a cover, albeit a great one, meant we got nothing new. I remember at the time of it's release being absolutely pissed off at that and only bought it for the DVD version and to add to the collection.

Wasn't She is Love on The Best of Oasis at some point? Seem to remember listening to it in the car but I'm sure we didn't ever play Heathen Chemistry. It's on Time Flies because of the fact it's a double a-side with Little By Little

I remember when Heathen Chemistry first came out I was all over Little By Little but now it's lucky if it gets played. Boring as hell track that wasn't single material in mind...there are 3 other songs from that era I'd have released as a single before that

Well, I must admit, Heathen Chemistry is a "black sheep" of Oasis discography for me, as well. And no, I don`t claim that the arrival of Gem and Andy ruined that band, but most of the tunes are just average (especially Songbird, Born on a Different Cloud and Quick Peep), maybe because it was some kind of a transitional album for them, with new band members. And of course that record has absolutely nothing to do with back-to-basics, I`d rather say it was a departure from their 90s sound. Surely the great tracks are Hindu Times, Hung in a Bad Place, Better Man and She Is Love (probably the most beautiful love song I`ve ever heard). Whoa....Born On A Different Cloud is easily one of the best on the album by a mile...how can you think She Is Love is beautiful and Born be an average track?

I'll never get what the problem with Heathen Chemistry is, I've always enjoyed it and except for just 2 (3 including quick peep) have always played it straight through and thought the flow of the album was one of the strongest they released

I really wish this was re-recorded, or mastered, or mixed, or something. The song itself isn't terrible, but I'll be damned if they recorded something worse than this. As poor as LLAB sounds... Street Fighting Man says hello I see your Street Fighting Man and raise you High Horse Lady

"Definitely Maybe" and "(What's The Story) Morning Glory ?" still sound great and fresh today. Morris production perfectly fitted those songs, he was the perfect producer for Oasis. I agree on Definitely Maybe, but I think Morning Glory sounds like shit except for a few songs like Wonderwall or Cast No Shadow.
Anyway, another unpopular opinion: The Masterplan is a cheesy, Beatles-wanna-be shit song.
I'm the opposite, Morning Glory sounds really fresh and still sounds like it could have been released this year...whereas Definitely Maybe sounds like it was a product of 94 and some of the songs to e sound quite dated

Do Oasis break up in 2009 if the onstage attack didn’t happen? I’m not so sure. It propelled Noel into absolute misery (understandably), making the tour incredibly dark. The pain and trauma Noel went through meant that he was unable to be patient with Liam’s normal antics as Noel sought to separate himself from the rest of the band. Maybe Oasis should have cancelled the DOYS tour after the attack. Go back into the studio for the 8th album after Noel had a rest and then toured again following the 8th album’s release. Yes they still would have, I believe Noel was already wanting to leave before Dig Out Your Soul had even finished recording (the failed recordings in the studio etc probably cemented this in his mind)

As You Were for me. Dig Out Your Soul, say It's a missed opportunity if you want but I've always thought the album sounded like a half arsed album where the split is already obvious. There is 2 maybe 3 tracks on there that I think are very good, the rest differ from unlistenable to meh. It is very much a missed opportunity as the tracks that wasn't put on there is so high...Not just Boy With The Blues or I Believe in All but even the likes of Four Letter Word and Record Machine and Everybody's On The Run.
As You Were on the other hand, is still an album I can listen to from start to finish and get the same buzz from. Liam sounds better and the production is better.

Oasis is a brand; Líam Gallagher is a brand; Noël Gallagher is a brand; Beady Eye is a terrible band name. God bless. This is right. The general public buy into the brand. Although everyone knew Beady Eye was Oasis minus Noel, i think that it didn't have much appeal to the general public because the brand wasn't there and it just looked like Noel left, and the band carried on under a new name and it all seemed a bit underwhelming to anyone but hardcore fans. Noel was see at the "talented one" in Oasis among the public, so carrying on without him and having your first album sounding a bit like a watered down version was always going to make it a struggle. what he did after Beady Eye is what he should've done after Oasis. Disappear for a while and come back with some decent instant enough polished tunes under his own name and a really great PR campaign that made him flavour of the month in the general public. i think they played a blinder on his comeback. There's nothing remarkable about the music, but the album and promo around it was polished and contemporary enough to give him a bit of identity to stand on his own. Beady Eye were dated before they barely got going in terms of the music, image, carrying the weight of the previous band etc.. They tried to change it for the second album but it was all a bit too late. I also think there was 2 other small parts of promo that was even before this...the Supersonic film and even the Comic Relief bit that brought Liam back to people a consciousness

I'm older than I wish to be This old town holds no more for me All My life, I've tried to find a better way
Do you think Beady Eye will be remembered in time or just simply forgotten about as footnote in Liam's life?

Richard Ashcroft in 05 (I think) but The Enemy were good also
Other than Columbia, what would have made a great opening track to Supersonic?
