It's playoff time! Now that the settings are all lined up, who you got? Sure, sure the smart money is on Dallas or Pheonix, but I gotta go with my hometown fav Rockets. Best season in 10 years, first round home court against the Jazz, I gotta pick T-Mac and Yao!
Anyway I pick the Heat in 6 last year over Dallas so I will list my predictions fo the first round here -
EASTERN CONFERENCE -
Pistons (1) v Magic (8) - easy Pistons
Caviliers (2) v Wizards (7) - easy Cavs
Raptors (3) v Nets (6) - Raptors
Heat (4) v Bulls (5) - depends on DWade, if he plays well I pick Heat
WESTERN CONFRENCE
Mavericks (1) v Warriors (8) - easy Mav's
Suns (2) v Lakers (7) - easy Suns even against Kobe
Spurs (3) v Nuggets (6) - tight, but I go with Spurs
Rockets (4) v Jazz (5) - go Rockets!

nah, the lakers are not good enough at any position other than (obviously) the 2 with Kobe to get anywhere in the playoffs. The Suns will probably sweep them 3-0 in the first round. They may get lucky and steal one but I doubt it. The Suns beat them 3-1 during the season with the loss only on opening night.

Kobe is amazing. He just was blowing by everyone so easily last night. And the lakers were actually playing defense for a change. If Kwame Brown and Odom can keep playing the way they did last night, then the Lakers might have a chance. Raptors and Nets tonight. Should be an interesting one, but Kidd is a game-time decision cos of his injury so he might not play.

holy shit the Rockets had a terrible game last night! lost 81-67 with only Yao, T-Mac, Alston and Battier scoring on the entire team! insanely bad night. Oh well, it happens. THey still lead 2-1 though.

Everyone is thinking that the champ will come out of the West, but for some reason I see Detroit taking it all this year. Golden State is my team now. They are amazing to watch and Baron Davis is going nuts.

golden state cannot do it again i'm afraid... i'd say the real final is taking place right now.. between the suns/spurs... whoever wins that series should take it all, unless detroit can come up big.

ya I agree the suns spurs series was looking good until amare & diaw got suspended 1 game, then the suns played terrible in game 6 too.
For the conference finals I pick Spurs over Jazz and Detroit over Cleveland with the Spurs winning the finals. Can you imagine, that would give Robert Horry more championship rings than Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen!

I LOVE me some Lakers.....I am totally "hoping" for them! ;D ok then better luck next year! really until they get somebody superb at the 3, 4 or 5 spot they are going to continue to be The Los Angeles Kobe's who struggle to make the playoffs and then get owned in the first round. It's sad that the guy who really is the best player in the NBA right now doesn't have a true second threat on his team. I mean, Michael Jordan never won a championchip without Scottie Pippen! To have a legitimate shot you gotta have Batman AND Robin!

Cavs vs Spurs is the likely scenario

yep loks like the Cleveland Labrons pulled it off! A bit sad really, I kind of wished somewhere deep down that the Pistons would win it all this year solely for Chris Webber. I have been a fan of his since he played at Michagan with the rest of the "Fab Five." Despite the notorious time-out incident I have always thought he was a great player and a hard worker.
Oh well! I gota be true to Texas! Time for the Spurs to win another! I got San Antonio in 6 games for the finals. Gonna go to the ladbrokes up the street and put 100 pounds on it!
