It'll be Noel's crew on the production deck. The Stacey brothers, etc. It would be amazing to see David Holmes produce the eighth album... (Imagine the backlash...) And that would be a failure of a decision. I know Liam's albums are not perfect but things like Wall of Glass or Everything's Electric hit harder than any sound Noel has produced on his guitar based rockier solo moments. It's just a dull lifeless sludge of a sound. I also don't want to sound like a A&R man, but it would be good for them to capitalise on this hype by really grabbing the audiences attention with a visceral sound that makes you sit up and stands out on the radio (just like they did with Owen Morris and Definitely Maybe) rather than handing production duties for this now massive thing to a bunch of dithering 50-something year olds in Noel's camp who are out of touch with what excites listeners. I agree with the majority of Noel's stuff, but I really like the production on Chasing Yesterday. You Know We Can't Go Back, Song Remains the Same, Ballad of the Mighty I, they all sounded so great, much cleaner than the first album. And I think Noel produced it himself?

Well we are talking about a team that probably had a lot to do in the process of later Oasis albums. I think also Noel was purposfully avoiding to sound like Oasis with HFB. Lock all the Doors is probably the closest to an Oasis song and I really like the production on it.

I can't wait for the fake album reviews a la Dig Out Your Soul. One very imaginative one had Record Machine described as a 12 minute epic with Noel on vocals and Liam muttering "dream dream live in a dream" throughout. I also remember it describing a song called Step Into the Light a 12 string acoustic western style song that was to be the first single, and Black As Coal, a piano ballad written by Andy Bell. It sounded epic! Give me this over what we actually got any bloody day of the week.

Yeah beauty dishes are tricky and, as far as I know, not recommended for those with a craggly face...like, uh, Noels. Could really accentuate the lines in his face if done wrong, but maybe he doesn't care? I'm sure the photographer is better than me though. I've only used them on models so I guess I don't have any say on it, just made me laugh considering he's 57. He does like that harsh off-camera flash look though, as seen on Chasing Yesterday. Maybe it's for a guitar instead? I guess we'll see at some point. I'm sure there's a softbox kicking around somewhere if they're bringing that much shit. So much of photography is moving shit. It can get exhausting even just looking at these photos lol. Haha, yeah it's exhausting sometimes to carry a heavy camera bag for whatever you're shooting. The beauty dish could be for the guitar indeed. Maybe we'll see some new promo pics in the near future alongside an interview. IMHO it is most likely a guitar shooting - maybe for a magazine like Guitar Mag / Guitarist / etc. The Epiphone case contains the legendary Wine Red Matsumoku Riviera. You can just spot the serial number. About the other case... I still have to properly look into it but my guess is that it's an acoustic from '94 or '95. Either the Epiphone EJ-200 from the early days (which hasn't been seen in nearly 30 years!), the Frontier or one of the Takamines. The multicolored oasis stencilled logo is definitely from 1994. I bet Noel wouldn't use one of those guitars for recording, unless he's on a huge nostalgia attack

It is impossible to tell from the photo what the camera is. It could be a 1DX or it could be an R3 but I’d lean towards the former.
The lens on it is not a professional L series lens though! It looks more like the cheap kit lenses you get!

I've got to say that a new album makes the whole thing 10 x more exciting. Without new material it's just cool whatever, a big pay day for a year. But them back in the studio would make it dreamland.

Media making a big deal Noel is outside a studio in London. It’s prob his own studio which wouldn’t be that unusual. Now if the press spots Liam at that studio then we are now cooking with gasoline.

In that Matt Morgan interview from May where he sounds really depressed and is saying how he doesn't know where to go with the material is interesting.. he says "I've got so much material at the moment... I'm grasping around in the dark.. it's not moving me"

Sounds like he thought, I know something that will get this into gear.

I’m trying to remember years ago, 8-10, when asked if a reunion tour ever did happen if Noel was for or against new material. He definitely said definitively one way. Can’t remember which.

He said it would've been great to go away and do their own thing and then get together for the Morning Glory anniversary for 2015. I don't think he's ever mentioned having Oasis worthy material, except that despicable release of Don't Stop

My aul fella (touring singer songwriter since the 80s) and I have talked so much about this. It would be really hard for N and L to go back to solo careers immediately after this. They’ll have that feeling of being back in their ‘home’ band and Noel will 100% have material floating around that he will have thought doesn’t apply well to him but would suit Liam, and he’ll be curious to see if that works. After now being back in Oasis world there’s no way that Liam could even contemplate going back to his session band / writing team beat. Without a doubt they’ll at least try to put something down.

Does anyone know the timeline on those scrapped albums? There's the stadium rock one during the pandemic, the acoustic one post Council Skies and the newer anthemic rock one this year, is that right?

Council Skies, then he said he was going to do an acoustic album next, then he scrapped that one and said he wanted to do a “defiant rock album” next instead…then the Oasis reunion.

If it's the R range, could be the R3 with a small 35mm or 50mm prime lens. Either way I'm glad they've got the beauty dish out for Noel. Has a beauty dish ever been the right choice to light Noel's face? Fucking hell, can't wait to see these results! Also getting to photograph Noel for multiple days? Whomever it is must talk a good game to be able to get that gig. Well done. Could the blonde carrying the camera be the back of Anais? She shot some video footage for Noel’s last album right? I assumed that footage was shot on some hybrid video/photography camera. Less pro…more of a developing family hobby possibly

The footage doesn’t look super sharp and processed like an iPhone. you can see depth of field (not the Apple digital fake) and camera focus shifting between subjects in the making of footage. I’d say it’s an old camera.

Would genuinely be intrigued to hear how Noel would write a full on rock song for Liam to sing now..... hoping we do get at least a single (Double A-Side, one Liam Vocal & Noel vocal) before the end of the year.

He already knew about the Oasis reunion before he did that podcast. I reckon he was falsely portraying he was struggling in the dark to throw us off the scent for when he did close the studio so people wouldn't assume a reunion just assume he was struggling.

Going from that May clip of Noel, it sounds like the re-union is more something to give him a break from writing/recording than something for him to write the most anticipated rock album of the decade around. I think he just wants to bag the cash, have a year of huge stadium gigs to boost his confidence, mend some family ties, and then get back to his own stuff when he's refreshed and hopefully inspired again. And I say good luck to him.

Hahaha He had a nice video about mixing a song in an Owen Morris style which was really cool (And surprisingly effective, but the song itself was already heavily Oasis inspired)
