I’d be stunned if Oasis played American football stadium. Those venues are massive and Oasis never got stadium sized large in America. Would a 15 year break make 50-70,000 people attend an Oasis show at MetLife? Highly doubt it but would love to see it. Maybe? Everything is so eventized now, and the pandemic only sent that into overdrive. A good chunk would buy-in simply for the event. Also if you keep the US gigs at a minimum that would also drive sales, ie if you're a midwest Oasis fan you can ONLY see them in Chicago. If you're a west coast Oasis fan, you can ONLY see them in LA. Then the sales aren't wholly dependent on drawing that city's fans but for a whole region. Between Detroit, Milwaukee, St Louis, and Chicago - I'm pretty sure there's enough to fill a stadium for what could be sold as a one-off gig. I will say, I was an early believer that they could sell out stadium shows in the US this time around.

I don't get it, how can people in 2009 not care? And now on 2024 they are massive in America, it makes no sense. My only guess is that it's a lot of people from the rest of the world buying tickets? i think that most people take for granted. i love macca, i went to his concert in 2017 in my city. he has been to brazil i think two times after that and is coming for a third one next week (for those i'd have to travel tbh). i know i'll miss him when he dies but still i can't bring myself to travel for that. i think that if someone said to me that this was def last macca's concerts in brazil i'd sell a kidney to go but since no one tells me that, i just keep saying no edit: and also consider the FOMO aspect increased by social media Yeah FOMO and a lot of people who still had diapers in 2009 too. Not that there is anything wrong with that(Usually they are the same people too haha) Same for other acts like pulp or blur. they became a legacy act, and that's attracting a lot of people who otherwise wouldn't go. Another reason is that rock n roll gigs are very rare nowadays. So when there is one...

Another reason is that rock n roll gigs are very rare nowadays. So when there is one... the last one is SO REAL!! rock concerts are so rare around here as well. last month i gave a serious thought about going to festival of cover bands that had in the day dedicated to "rock classics" an arctic monkeys cover as much as i love arctic monkeys they simply are not a "classic" rock band!!! but i believe they could not fill the slot with anything else because THERE IS NOTHING ELSE edit: i forgot to say that i myself have never seen oasis live because i was a teenage when they broke up. also never seem liam or noel as well, i was too broke for that (i'd have to travel somewhere else, the city where i live rarely gets international concerts and they've never been here). so i think i could be fitted in your second category as well? lol

So, dyou guys think they'll announce Boston and/or Chicago 2nd day? Thursday night in Chicago is a bit awkward. I'd sell my Thursday tickets if I could bag a pair on a hypothetical Friday show.

It’s gonna be good fun. Few bands I think could live up to this hype. But Liam, Noel, and the presumed band are well warmed up. Just think it’s going to be amazing when that intro starts…

This summer I saw gigs for Santana and Melissa Etheridge, and they had all the electric guitar a person could dream of.

Maybe the US will get lucky and have RA as the first opener. Manics would be amazing! Saw them on their Holy Bible tour almost a decade ago. Another reason is that rock n roll gigs are very rare nowadays. So when there is one... This right here - this is it, I think. Real electric guitars? In America, no less? Hard to find outside of small punk/metal subgenre scenes over here. The psychedelic and garage rock scenes are all going strong if you know where to look. But those are all niche genres. Big rock acts, those who can sell out arenas and stadiums, are certainly harder and harder to find these days.

Totally different vibes though. A proper rock band needs a bit of menace.

So, dyou guys think they'll announce Boston and/or Chicago 2nd day? Was there an optional 2nd date on the original spreadsheet leak? That document seems to have been legit. That said, I'm surprised Boston isn't announced -- perhaps waiting on NY demand, or the stadium simply wasn't available as originally planned

While I don't thinks theres really anything to suggest a new record, this reunion absolutely makes a retrospective very likely.

I honestly can't see what they have done? unless they been running algorithms on social media to the masses, I saw nothing in the u.k except the announcement. Not sure if been loads of marketing in the u.s but the tickets sold themselves.

By the end of this year, there’s a new album on the way as well apparently, imagine how many variations of that will be available, ah well, it’s all good ! 😊

Between tickets to gigs , the singles boxsets from Japan, the book Michael Spencer Jones is due to release and everything else coming....now would be a grand time to win the bingo. Note to self - start going to bingo.
