Elephants are just wonderful creatures and I love them. But sadly they get killed by bloody poachers and trophy hunters it just makes me angry. Also, these elephant rides need banning once and for all as they're extremely cruel and it's not just the rides themselves which are cruel it's also what goes on behind the scenes which many people don't know. They're chained up for hours on end and beaten by the bastard owners. 🦏🦒🐫🐧🐼🦉🦆🦅

Do we like certain artists more than others because the feelings their music create reflect our own personality? Interesting. I always thought about it while comparing my two favourite 90's bands: Oasis and Belle and Sebastian. I once did a few threads of "band of the week" on this forum and did one on B&S. The reactions were quite mixed and I'm sure it would be the same on a B&S forum if I did a thread on Oasis. Both bands are pretty different tbh. A loud rock band playing romantic, melodic and powerful pop songs and on the other hand, a gentle, baroque like folk-pop band (of course both bands did different stuff throughout their respective careers, but that's the aesthetics they're known for). Yet, I adore both bands almost the same way. So why ? I think in my case, what makes me love those bands is the happiness their music gives me, but also the atmosphere and feelings their songs convey, the memories and places it take me back to, the landscapes/people it makes me think of, etc. And the same thing can also explain stuff I really don't like. For example I really can't stand pretty much every Elton John song I know (the exception would be "Rocket Man" which I can appreciate sometimes). I remember when I said that on the forum a few months back, a member (I can't remember if it was Matt or Funhouse) was very surprised that I would dislike him since I often talk about my love for melodies and that he considered Elton as a great melodist. Maybe he is, I don't know. Each time I try to listen to one of his songs, I can't stomach it though. "Your Song", it's a fuckin' no way, for me. I feel like I'm on a yacht with billionaires, drinking some champagne when listening to it. That's what the aesthetic, instrumentation and vocals of the song make me think of. Not my trip at all The beauty of music is actually that we all have different taste but also the reasons we judge the songs we love and hate are so different too. Some have a pretty objective (even almost mathematical) judgement on a song structure, the complexity of the chord progression and the arrangements, the singer range, etc. Some have more of a sensory judgement on a song. But in the end, there's no right or wrong way.

Interesting on what happened yesterday with Bjorn Goop: It was a long day at Arlanda 12 hours before he managed to get out of the Amsterdam plane !! Yes everything happened today - The staff for the flight arrived late so they got no take-off time-When they got take-off time, then it snowed in Amsterdam- Next message- The one who scratches the runways has stopped-Then the measure was over - Björn wanted to jump off 11.00 - (taxed in the plane since 6.00) - Did not get off - then you have to do new Corona tests- After threats he came iaf from the Amsterdam plane - Now new itinerary at 17.00 with Air France directly Paris. Björn said a whole day that I could work 🤣

I said that there hasn't been any snow here yet but it's been very windy here today. However, I never take any notice of these forecasters as they never get it right half the time. It's much better to wait and see what it's doing yourself.

Buckley making points Jenna is just a brat with money. I don't think she'll snap out of it. Is there a audio of Jenna's entire plea for a Trump pardon for being in the riot? (he ignored it I heard)

That was me While I get that some impressions make one unable to appreciate an artist(like the vibe you say you get from his music which I can sort of understand), I still stand by that my arguments were valid haha. If you strip down the song to only its melody, I find it hard to believe you would still get that reaction from hearing Your Song. But who am I to tell?

I knew it that I would speak to soon about the snow as it's been snowing on and off so far this morning. However, it's not too bad when it first falls as you can still get around. I went up to Morrisons first thing because I needed some shopping but I won't be going out again until later this week. It's raining now though so that's something the forecasters got wrong as it never said it would rain today. Whenever it snows here though it never lasts long.

If it was stripped down and was sang by, I don't know, Liam Gallagher or Jeff Tweedy or Diana Ross or Molly Rankin (or I mean just someone I do like the voice ), maybe I 'd like Your Song. I'm guess I gonna wait for one of those to cover it

I can only imagine what the men behind Matilde Herleiksplass after that win were thinking today. I do not count Ms Levesque.

In the best way possible, though.

It's just snow showers here but we don't usually get much anyway. So hopefully it will be gone by the end of the week. It's alright when it's first fallen as you can still get around. It's when it ices over I hate.

I always worry about our wildlife when it's really bad weather because it's harder for them to find food and sadly not all of our beautiful wildlife servives which is sad.

I can tell Thomas Arnaud has never handled a horse before, that was idiotic laughing at Mathilde when Guerch did a circle. Bazire was watching for signs of anger in Guerch.

Why must empathize and emphasize look practically identical. That’s a clusterfuck of a typo waiting to happen....

I read on the BBC news pages earlier that an eagle how a sea eagle in the Isle Of Wight has returned home after a 17 month journey across England. The eagle flew 4,904 (3,047 miles) according to a tracker it wears. Birds are just so amazing how they can fly for miles and miles. 🕊🦆🦉🦃🐤🐧

As I was in the middle of learning British history, moving to the United States in the 5th grade made me miss learning early American history.
So forgive me for knowing fuck all about the American Civil War.

That's okay. Some of us are bad at math.
