lubeck, you aren't fighting over Nutella are you? No, I almost never go to supermarkets anyway. But the ones that are fighting over Nutella are utter idiots.

Triple M just sealed another argument between me and Julien Debache, I can reveal his name not the other. His restaurant if interested: la-fontanella.frIf you go, tell him that pesky Aussie says hi.

The Verve > Oasis Sorry, it's just my current mood. I try not to listen to Oasis for a while so when I do I remember why they are my favourite band. The Verve are great though, I actually listened to Velvet Morning earlier.

I fucking hated Cloverfield. You knew the ending from the very beginning and nothing justified watching beyond the first few minutes. But even putting that aside, I found it quite offensive in how it was just a direct exploitation of 9/11/2001. Terrible.

Terrible. how is it an exploitation of 9/11, because NYC got flattened? well if thats the case so is godzilla or Man Of Steel, i really dig cloverfield even though its quite predictable

I fucking hated Cloverfield. You knew the ending from the very beginning and nothing justified watching beyond the first few minutes. But even putting that aside, I found it quite offensive in how it was just a direct exploitation of 9/11/2001. Terrible. how is it an exploitation of 9/11, because NYC got flattened? well if thats the case so is godzilla or Man Of Steel, i really dig cloverfield even though its quite predictable I just did a quick Google search of "Cloverfield 9/11", and this is the first article that I clicked on. The author actually appreciates the 9/11 analogy that I find offensive, but nevertheless she is spot on with the description. Personally, I found this tastless and tactless. Cloverfield was 9/11 but with just a "Godzilla" instead of airplanes. All of this is a really long way of saying that I saw Cloverfield this weekend and it blew me away for its spot-on depiction of being attacked (in the film, New York City is ravaged by an alien that’s 20 stories tall and breathes fireballs — but, you know, whatever). The first 45 minutes of Cloverfield is the closest I think I can get to showing sometime else what 9/11 was like for me on an emotional level. Cloverfield nails what that morning felt like: the confusion at first, and then fear overwhelms and all you can think about is the possibility of dying and needing to escape by getting out-out-out but where can you go because the subways and trains aren’t running? It gets what it looks like and feels like to believe there’s 8 planes in the air, that the president ordered any non-grounded aircraft to be shot down, they could be shot down above your city and kill you, and what if there’s a ground attack? It depicts what it’s like to be convinced that that day is the day you are going to die. www.huffingtonpost.com/jessica-wakeman/on-cloverfield-and-911_b_82518.htmlAnd then there's this article: Nevermind the Monster — Cloverfield Is All About 9/11io9.gizmodo.com/346346/nevermind-the-monster----cloverfield-is-all-about-911In fact, you get 100,000 results when you search "Cloverfield 9/11" Some people appreciate the analogy. I do not. But make no mistake, Cloverfield is a direct rip off of what happened on 9/11.

Post by Let It Bleed on Jan 27, 2018 17:06:33 GMT -5
When I was in grade school, I would often intentionally put my hand up to answer a question seconds after the smartest kid in the class put his hand up. The teacher would then call on the smartest kid, who would proceed to give a good answer. Then, I would get called on and I would reply, “oh! I was going to say the same thing!” Didn’t always work as if the smartest kid said something stupid, it would make me say something equally stupid by proxy. But it was an effective method about 75% of the time! Let It Bleed Breakfast: coffee, french-pressed; blueberry pomegranate smoothie. Lunch: sushí. Dinner: Tide pods. God bless.
