2017 saw Donald Trump start a 4 year contract with the US, and Arsene Wenger a 2 year contract with Arsenal. Which is worse?

Every time I go onto this forum in my iPhone Safari browser I get scam Amazon pop ups redirect me to another page. I have to then exit the browser and go back to the forum again. Is anybody else having this issue? Because you say I don’t add value to the forum I shouldn’t help you. But I’m not a dick. Delete your phone browser’s history. Simples.

mystoryisgory What do you think of Miles Davis work for the movie "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud" ? I quite like it, especially the "Générique": Davis's catalogue is quite large so things are bound to slip through the cracks, but wow, I'm amazed I didn't discover this sooner! It's fantastic! Do you know if the movie is any good, too?

When I was seven years old we did dictation in class. The teacher said that dictation is writing everything she says down on a piece of paper. Somewhere that got lost in translation (ironic) because I would transcribe even the punctuation. So a given sentence from me would be as such: “Oasis are the best band ever full stop.” I must have looked like a right old cheeky lad, when I was in fact just being a div! Let It Bleed

Ha, in that case I should check out more of Zappa's catalogue! I don't play Freak Out often because, like a lot of other 60's psych-rock albums, I can't play them when the sun isn't shining without a cloud in the sky. And it's winter, ya know, so that might have to wait till spring. But I'm listening to Hot Rats right now, and I'm amazed at how different it sounds from what I've heard from Freak Out! Plus, it sounds like legit jazz and I wouldn't have guessed it was Zappa unless someone told me. A lot of jazz as recorded by rock musicians ends up sounding like pastiche or worse, but this is done with the proper respect for the genre. Peaches en Regalia is a great song. In fact the whole album sounds great. Oh yeah, I forgot that most Oasis fans won't be used to listening to anything longer than All Around the World. But don't let the length of the tracks on Bitches Brew drive you away! Yes, they'll take up more of your time, and if you're a busy person you may not be able to find the time to squeeze in 20+ minutes of uninterrupted listening, but, trust me, it's worth it. I too had problems with the ridiculous track times of Bitches Brew when I first listened. What I did that finally made it click with me was that I just had it on in the background while I was doing work, and then the songs popped out at me even as I wasn't actively listening. Needless to say, the day I finally understood Bitches Brew was not a productive day. His versitality is probably what makes him so fascinating to me. Listening to an album of his can be very much "hit and miss" sometimes, but when it's good it's usually not only good, but very rewarding, because it feels like you know a little bit more about music than you did before. The fact that he can move between rock, jazz and classical music with such ease is only a testament to his musical genius. And he was such a compelling guy outside of the music as well. I think my "focused" way of listening is the wrong way to approach jazz in general, but especially in this case. I get too caught up in details, and if I feel like the track has no structure whatsoever, I get frustrated Especially since I know about Miles Davis's reputation and expect, almost demand to be blown away. But I promise to try again some time this year, and maybe a more "casual" approach will do the trick Funny thing, I actually love listening to jazz for the details haha. And don't be afraid of lack of structure! Personally, I get very tired of rock/pop songs that are so obvious in their structure, with the verses being so obviously verses, the choruses being so obviously choruses, etc. Granted, this can be used to brilliant effect, especially with massive singalong choruses a la Don't Look Back in Anger, but those are really difficult to pull off. But a lack of structure keeps you guessing about what's gonna come next. It allows you to lose yourself in the song, because you can't position yourself as in the beginning, middle, end, etc. And I like being lost.

They've been in full force lately like I've never seen before, any idea as to why? No idea, but most of them are something to do with meds/supplement. Annoying as hell.

A lack of sense of direction(or something like that) was probably the term I was looking for. Lack of structure is generally no problem for me, otherwise I wouldn't have named myself(on this forum) after a rather chaotic album, or be listening to Frank Zappa I guess that kind of music isn't completely structureless though, I would call it something like "chaos within boundaries". The problem with for example Miles Davis is that it's so incredibly directionless that I quickly lose intrest. It sounds like 1000 unrelated parts thrown together to me, and that's probably my personal limit of how much chaos I can stand

So, if you wanted to fix old cars then you're supposed to be an auto mechanic. I never had an answer. I guess that's why I'm working at eva's asado cuddle parties.... Thanks.

PC Gaming: The Last Aircooler.
Book 1: Why shit is so expensive?
So i'm trying to build a PC. It's not much of a gaming machine, it's more of a general purpose PC that i intent to use to learn Linux, now why don't i just install Linux on my laptop? because for some reason the touchpad in my laptop is made by a shady chinese company, and while Linux can make it work, after a few days or so hell breaks loose and the touchpad starts having a seizure. So it's not reliable, that's why i'm buying a proper PC.
The first thing you'll learn when you decide to build a PC in a second (almost third) world country is that shit is expensive. really expensive. A graphics card costs 3x (sometimes way more) as much here than it does in the US. So if you want to run any game at a decent resolution you gotta sell your kidneys.
The second problem would be CPU + Motherboard, thankfully AMD heard my prayers and releases Ryzen and AM4 motherboards which are much cheaper than their Intel counterparts. Fuck you intel, i'm not spending money on you anymore bitch.
The real second problem is RAM. You know those NES cartridges? when you take them off their case they're just like RAM, they even have almost the same basic purpose. The difference is that NES cartridges are much less ex-i don't really know why i'm mentioning NES carts, obviously they're cheaper, the technology is much older. What the fuck. You get it, 8gb of RAM is the price of a half decent graphics card. Why? i certainly don't know, but i would love to.
Problem number três: To buy an SSD you also have to sell parts of you to the black market. Just so you know how much expensive SSDs are here compared to the US, there's a guy on yt called Druaga1 who has a running joke in his videos, he puts an SSD in everything, he has a fuckton of SSDs, $20 SSDs, which is about 60 Reais (BRL), i would kill to buy an SSD for only 60 reais.
At least the government doesn't give a fuck if you pirate shit so i can have all the free games i want. Do you guys know a TV show called My Name Is Earl, in which Earl believes that all the bad things he's done in life caught up to him and fucked him up? Karma and all? i believe that's the same thing that's happening to me, i pirated so much shit that now karma got to me and it raised the prices of everything.
Also, obviously no one here will get the Avatar reference in the first line but i feel cool doing it. like the kid who goes to school with a minecraft shirt.

University application half-done. Only missing reference and paying. Might still add 5th university just in case, although I'm not even sure if I want to be outside Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Every time I see an email in my inbox, my anxiety spikes hoping that it’s the acceptance from Queen Mary University of London. Reminds me of those days in 2006 eagerly awaiting the mailed acceptance from GW. I‘m still expecting the worst, but the anticipation is really taking a toll on me! I would really love to return to QMUL this September for my post-graduate studies in International Relations. guigsysEstring
