I seriously hate how spread out Los Angeles is. It most certainly is not Washington DC. 😡
Interview with a recruiter on Monday for an Office Manager position at a law firm. I hope I don't fuck this up. #SuitUp #Gorgeous

Can't stand the people with "we're the best nation of the world" attitude. I take it that's aimed at my post. Think it's the first time I've mentioned the country on here. Certainly don't think the nation is above or better than anyone else. Hopefully soon people on here will cop on to the fact that the UK is not 1, but 4 countries, 1 of which is NOT the Republic of Ireland. I doubt you'd like to be labelled German either.

I once was in London and people thought we were German and once we said we were Dutch they really treated us differently, more open and friendly and laughs and all. German is quite different from Dutch anyway. My German is awful and I also think it's a very ugly sounding language.

Not Ireland, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland.

So I took a punt and went to a gig on my own for the first time in London - he's not a household name but it was Roddy Woomble at Islington Assembly Hall, lead singer of Idlewild and folk solo artist.
I love his solo work and his music with Idlewild was one of those bands I grew up with, so I have a very sentimental attachment towards it. Well anyway, the gig was fantastic - had fiddle player and everything, mixed with the alternative rock sound of Idlewild. So the gig finished, and I decided to get some cash out to buy his new album at the merchandise stand. 15 minutes later I reenter the venue and the place is dead now. Merchandise is being sold in the hall itself, but the lights are still out with only a scattering of folk here and there. I'm buying the album, and a bloke standing next to me, drinking a bottle of beer pipes up and asks 'do you want that signed mate?'. Turn around, it's Roddy Woomble himself! I'm stunned, and he detects the accent and asks where I'm from. He knows the place very well, and I get chatting about the music and his influences. I detect a few hints here and there in his lyrics, so I ask him if he's a fan of my favourite poet George Mackay Brown - turns out its his favourite writer!
Honestly one of the most heartwarming chats I've ever had. It can be quite lonely at times in London, living far away from home and when you chat to someone who is part of the soundtrack of growing up, but also understands the obscure influences that you share, then it really reaffirms your sense of identity. For that reason, it was such an enlightening experience, helping me to reflect on the past and the songs that he'd written during my time growing up, but also the present and how far I am away from that. Some songwriters keep you grounded in your own sense of identity, and still being a fan of his music after all these years made me realise how far you travel in life. A great great guy, a real life affirming experience it was.

I'm not going to check the math out on this, but I believe I hit the 25,000 posts in September.
I now have added 800 posts in 1.5 months or so. A nod to Liam's album, for sure.
I tend to average 2,000 posts/year so that's impressive if it's correct, innit. Mad fer it.

Does anyone else have a "Drag a file to upload" gray screen take over the entire webpage when they're trying to post? Annoying as fuck because I can't figure out how to get rid of it besides reloading the webpage, and that deletes everything I've written. Any way to fix this?

Being in a college that 80% of students are girls is a funny experience. I´ve always been a bit shy around women but i had to lose that trait quickly or i would have ended up forever alone. And they are all very nice and helpful, and cute. Liking the vibes the college has a lot.
