To the idiots who are pro pensioner men molesting women, all of you go fuck yourselves please. Put yourselves in my shoes and then you'll see why that so evil card is wanted.if they cannot control themselves. Ohhhh but it's evil, so is booze to some men.

It’s been 5 years since I last worked. I forgot what a bitch Cover Letters are. Right now, I’m just submitting my resume to any Admin Assistant position I qualify for on Indeed.com. I think I will start tailoring my application and bring back the dreaded Cover Letters by next week. My plan is also to use recruiting agencies. With 3 months to land a job, I need to make sure I do something with the job search every day. And I need luck, lots and lots of luck - while I can maximize my prospects, getting a job is ultimately out of my direct control. By the by, anyone in Los Angeles looking to hire a competent individual? *cheeky wink* guigsysEstring (sorry for always tagging you, but I do find your support and encouraging words really helpful in such a shit time in my life).

Also, if you plug away all the carry on will fall in to your hands. Then you'll feel like it's a headache. Then you'll learn to switch off. FFS though realise the anxiety is synthetic at best.

Morning Nigel (well, whatever time it is in your part of the USA ) Five years out of the workforce is not insurmountable to getting a job in your situation given that you have experience and qualifications that would appeal to a prospective employer. Where you need to focus is on explaining your absence which you need to do both frankly but equally importantly positively, with an emphasis on it becoming a chapter of the past, how you feel that their role fits in with your life plan to move forward in a way that would prove beneficial to the employer, etc. It is a bit of PR really but by demonstrating honesty when discussing your past issues combined with a positive attitude you will be giving yourself the best chance of persuading someone to give you an opportunity. The agency route is probably not a bad idea either not only for access to multiple vacancies via a single source, but also by being open and honest you whilst being willing to perhaps take on temporary positions until a permanent role arises your may find that the agency becomes more confident in you and your abilities and recommends you for the better openings. I hope this makes sense as it has been a heavy few days, and I wish you well as always in this new chapter of your life. Please do not apologise for tagging me as I am happy to be a sounding board as best I can, so feel free again if you need to Best and welcome back to the mainstream (for want of a better phrase ) Guigs

But don't completely dismiss the idea of lying through your teeth about the reasons behind your absence from work. Find a company within your region that has went out of business recently. Long story short you were made redundant by this company so here you are. EVERYBODY bullshits on a CV and/or application form. Be pragmatic.

Beady’s Here Now this is very good added advice to my own and is a lot clearer on my 'be positive' theme, you don't have to give them the grim details just be honest about on going issues that are relevant. walterglass good correcting of me, and as an employer i can vouch that you are absolutely right in my experience about application forms and CVs

Whoever employs him next will probably find they have a worker on their hands who has that wee bit more passion than the next.

I think this is a sound strategy - and would result in no obvious gap on the resume. If anyone has suggestions around this or if it's a bad idea, PLEASE. Let me know. Cheers all.

Friends going to club while I'm at home doing fuck all and waiting till my work starts.
Well, I guess the positive thing is that while they're out spending money, I'm earning money instead (double pay even because Sunday).

Trying to mentalise Jean Michel Bazire on a galloper tomorrow.... Too heavy (70-90 kg). His son could though.

I was looking at the night sky and thought I really need make a stargazing trip some day. Somewhere warm and with no light pollution. I'd just like to lay on my back and look at the sky whole night. Bring some music and bud.
