I just saw the trailer for Netflix's movie To The Bone Beady's Caro Thoughts for The Day thread. This is seriously so fucked up. I could have done without watching seeing that. FTFY.

Errrrr I'm still me but had some weird password issues. I hate technology sometimes but it's clearly Beady's Mighty Eye's fault.

Well fuck me. I didn't get in to university. What the fuck am I supposed to do now? Fuck this shit. Like the only thing I was looking forward to just shattered and now my future is black again. e. Maybe I should try to get a job from some other country. Because I just can't live another year in this fucking town. I know that if I stay here I will becomd more unsocial and I will mostly waste another year while I'm still young. UK fascinates me but I'm not sure if it'd live up to my expectations in the end. Although if I managed to find a stable life there it probably wouldn't be something I regret. However, I have no idea what kind of jobs there are for someone who's only graduated from upper secondary school. Other option is to try to find a job from cheaper (southern) country but I fear that'd make me an alcoholic

Not sure, is there an option for applying to a different uni or a different course at this stage? If not, yeah your future's uncertain, but you can either take that as a good or a bad thing. Check out what options are open to you now, likely they'll be different from what was available back when you applied to uni.

You can apply to some places this autumn but most the places open aren't really for me. So not getting in means most likely a gap year. I didn't get in now (didn't even have any easier universities as a backup plan) so I will have to wait till next March before I can try to apply again. I'm really considering finding a job abroad just to get some change in my life.

Just curiousity.

Just curiousity. I did but I didn't get in to any of those. I could've chose other universities (easier to get in) but they were far too north/east for my liking. I wanted to go bigger cities in south (Helsinki, Turku, Tampere). I want to move out of my parents' house but I don't want to stay in this town because there's so little to do. I'd get bored. However, apartments in Finland are expensive. I have no chance to find one from Helsinki if I weren't a student and I'm not sure about other cities here. It'd be so much easier to move as a student. Travelling is one thing I really want to do, I like to see the world. So instead of spending another year here dying of boredem I could actually do something different and move to other country for a while. Even better if the place has good music scene and I could see some of my favourite bands live (which is almost impossible where I'm living). e. Right now my plan is to work here till September. I'd probably get almost 2k€ per month (2k isn't enough to reach my tax limit so I don't even pay taxes) although I have to pay my own fuel because I'm working on my car. So I try to save as much as I can, quit my job so I can travel with my friend (Kovoso and Croatia). Maybe in October I'd start looking at jobs abroad and see if I find anything interesting.

So what kind of job is this we're talking about? Sounds interesting though, travelling the world and all. Would definitely do that if you have the possibility. When you're older you might not do that as easily.

Just scored a pointless answer on Pointless with Pulp's This Is Hardcore. Winning. Got one the other day with Young Fathers' album Dead (category was Mercury Prize winners) Also I think I remember getting Sunday Morning Call as a pointless answer once for top 40 singles with Sunday in the title and NGHFB as pointless for artists with the top 40 bestselling albums of 2012 or something like that.

theyknowwhatimean , listened to about two thirds of your Jam playlist earlier - very much enjoyed it. Standouts were definitely Mr. Clean and The Butterfly Collector. Also, I'm ashamed to admit it, but Eton Rifles kept reminding me of Green Day's Holiday :/

When you're older you might not do that as easily. Dealing newspapers at night. I use my own car (or parent's because it's automatic) and they give me allowance 0.54€ per kilometer when my route is total 98km. The work is 5h per night and I work 6 days a week so it's quite a lot. Although next month I travel to Rome so I had to get 6 days free.

Also, I'm ashamed to admit it, but Eton Rifles kept reminding me of Green Day's Holiday :/ I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't sure you would, because some of the recordings are undoubtedly pretty rough by today's standards, and Weller's voice clearly isn't quite there yet (he'd've only been eighteen years old when he recorded the first song I've listed), but yeah, there's some great stuff in there. As I was saying to guigsyEstring the other day, their best songs all capture so well what it's like to be a young person coming into adulthood, finding yourself disillusioned and angered by the way you see other adults behaving themselves. Mr. Clean is one of my favourites too. Love it when it changes up at the end, and he's ranting about the yuppie getting pissed at the annual office do in his smart blue suit. "You miss Page 3, but The Times is right for you". Great, man...
