At least 10k. Limited edition my ass. Somebody came forward with a Number 10263 online. So there's even more. If it's 15K and they all sell...wouldn't that be enough for a UK number 1?!

No14 in the official midweek update. I knew it would slip from that early look placing at #6.
I guess the only question will be whether or not it achieves a new peak, meaning above #31.

It would be great if it did achieve a new peak and reached a higher place in the charts than it's original peak at 31 but we'll have to wait and see if it does or not.

I was thinking physical sales of at least 15,000 would be enough for a top 10?

If supersonic is successful in making top 10 d'you guys reckon that they will start reissuing the following singles to make it climb higher than when they were originally released(at least three DM ones)?

I was thinking physical sales of at least 15,000 would be enough for a top 10? Number 6 has 10,917 today and supersonic is at #14 so sales today are far below 10k. The new 7" single is numbered. No exact quantities are known. There are some photos floating around online with +10k numbers so probably it's a running of 20k units, but worldwide. We'll see at the end of the week. Higher chart for Supersonic is at #31. I think it will chart around that place... Everybody streaming Supersonic! C'mon!!

That's a shame. Mind you, I guess that not all fans bought it if they already had the original like me.

That's a shame. Mind you, I guess that not all fans bought it if they already had the original like me. The vinyl more or less sold out anyway. It’s number 1 in all the physical and sales charts. It was a lack of streams that stopped it charting higher.

Oh ok, that's the trouble these days with streams being included in the charts as well and I didn't know that it was number one in all the physical and sales chart. At least that's something.

UK Singles Chart Week Ending 25/04/24
TOP 100 SINGLES 42. (RE) SUPERSONIC (Oasis) 15 wks
To mark the 30th anniversary of its original release, Oasis’ first single, Supersonic, has been released in new CD and 7-inch editions. After a brisk start which saw it at No.1 on the first of the week’s sales flashes on Saturday and No.6 on Sunday, it fell steadily throughout the week. In the final chart for the first time since 1996, it cannot, however, surpass its original 1994 No.31 peak, re-emerging at No.42 (11,559 sales). It is No.2 CD (1,206 sales) and No.1 vinyl (6,255 sales). 25 singles by Oasis have higher – Top 30 – chart peaks than Supersonic but it is the band’s sixth most-consumed song, with a to-date tally of 1,168,103 units.

Im gutted it didnt make the top 40, and even set a new peak above 31. Although in truth, they probs could have if theyd wanted, by making it a wider vinyl release as it all sold out so quick.
Just shows how dominant streaming is now though. And it maybe emphasises what an achievement it was for Just Another Rainbow to hit #16 this year.

Just shows how dominant streaming is now though. It shows that streams count much more in the charts than sales. Wouldn't be suprisped if the sale of 15k Singles + an unknown number of CDs generates income on the level of a top 10 streaming hit.

I think for singles, 100 streams count as the equivalent of 1 physical sale, but obviously the physical singles market is tiny compared to streaming now.
For albums it's more complicated – 1,000 streams equals a sale, but the two most popular tracks are brought down to the average of the rest of the album (so that just having one or two mega-popular songs doesn't help so much).
So physical album sales still count towards the charts much more than singles, which is why bands who aren't particularly massive (but who have a strong core of physical pre-order fanbases) can get to number 1 for a week these days, like Mogwai and Shed Seven have in recent times.
