So, every Noel solo album has a tune with the word "Death" or something related to it in the title, and you could argue they're all highlights of their respective eras. But if you had to pick just one, which one would it be?

All have their merit. I’m probably least keen on Death of You and Me but the brass parts are fun. The other three are Noel at his best imo. Dying of the Light wins it for me.

For me it'd be
Dead To The World Dead in The Water The Death of You and Me
The Dying of the Light
The first two are extremely close and both top 5 HFB songs in my opinion, it's just that I find Dead to the World to be a unique thing in Noel's whole back catalogue
The Death of You and Me is slightly behind but a brilliant song, still sounds fresh, good lyrics, it's just that it's not as much of a high emotionally, but I'd put it in my top 10 from the HFBs
The Dying of The Light is good but not as good as the others imo, classic Noel and very well written, but it lacks that special factor the others have

The Dying Of The Light definitely. I can't stand Dead To The World and the other two are ok but they've never been favourites of mine.

Dead In The Water is up there with classic Noel. The Death of You & Me a close second. Dead To The World a comfortable third, and Dying of the Light a far distant fourth.

Very close call between The Death Of You And Me (Which must be one of the most criminally underrated songs of all time) and Dead To The World. I think The Death Of You And Me is one of Noel's top 3 solo songs, I don't think Dead To The World is quite on the same level but I just love it, it's a personal favorite of mine which is why I voted for that one but I think a lot of peple may have forgotten just how good The Death Of You And Me is, if you haven't played it in a while give it a listen, Noel's first release as a solo artist was always going to have huge expectations, if you take the song on it's own merits though it's fucking fantastic.

Dead In The Water - huge pop hit potential The Death Of You & Me - solid single and album track The Dying If The Light - album filler vibes Dead To the World - should've been a b-side/hidden gem
Looks like Noel only got one of these right 😎

Dead in the water clearly. Then The death of you and me. Dead to the world third, far from the other two. As Liam says it should have been a b side a la Idler’s dream. Dying of the light is distant fourth. Tries to be the big ballad in Chasing Yesterday and falls very short.

Yeah I don't get the hype about Dying of the Light. It's decent but very formulaic - seems like an algorithm generated song that mish mashes all those other kind of Noel songs together. Shocked it's leading this poll to be honest.

Shocked it's leading this poll to be honest. It's not I loved it when it came out but I think out of the four it's the one with the least staying power. It's maybe the most accessible (DTTW and TDOYAM are a bit more understated and DITW is just a live acoustic recording) but the other three have a spark that one lacks

It’s a tough question. I like all four very much, but if I can only have one, I pick dying of the light - he’s written that song three, maybe four times now - if I had a gun, dying of the light, wandering star, easy now - and I think dying of the light is the best expression of that particular song form.

Dying Of The Light for me. It isn't often that Noel's lyrics resonate on such a personal level with me but...
And I was told The streets were paved with gold And there'd be no time for getting old when we were young
Hits me right in the feels every time I hear it.

I understand and fully support the hype with The Dying Of The Light. Yes, it's Noel by numbers, but that's what we love innit?
All other 3 also great tunes though

Shocked it's leading this poll to be honest. It's Noel's fourth most streamed song ever with almost no promotion, so I don't find it surprising. A great song with immediate appeal at first listen that many casual listeners everywhere added to their personal playlists.Should have been the big single of CY That said, my vote is for Dead on the Water, a song up there with hos 90's classics

Now we can do the Life Poll:
Alive, To Be Where's Life, Aka ... What a Life, and Live Fore ...
Actually, there's probably no need, now I think about it.

what about a Love Poll:
She Is Love, Who Feels Love, Love Is a Rich Man, If Love Is the Law, Let There Be Love

what about a Love Poll: She Is Love, Who Feels Love, Love Is a Rich Man, If Love Is the Law, Let There Be Love 5. She is Love is close to the worst Oasis song 4. If Love is the Law is close to the worst NGHFB songs 3.So is Live is a Rich Man 2. Who Feels Love is fine I guess but repetitive 1. Let there be love was better on the Giants demos Conclusion: Death is better than Love for Noel songs!!

If Love Is The Law is one of the best NG songs I more or less agree with the rest though. Death is definitely better than love.

From what I gather, Noel should be doing a death metal album then?
