Most people here have rated it at 8.
That’s really cool.

9. Reminds me of the standing on the shoulders demos. I haven’t liked any other album by Noel. - except the best of. This really works for me. I asked this elsewhere but was ‘Don’t Stop’ on the giants demos? It sounds really familiar

I think Don't Stop was first heard during a Dig Out Your Soul soundcheck in early 2009. Singapore in February that year or something, I'm fairly sure it was around the same time the soundcheck leak of Everybody's On The Run and If I Had A Gun were released. It's a song that's been around for so so long, think it was already a few years old by time the soundcheck version.

This album has already slipped from my consciousness like an eel bathed in butter.

The two posts above seem sad to me. They take the effort to come to a NG forum to rag on NG, not really rate the album. It's sort of like calling up your ex-girlfriend to tell her you've forgotten her...
I give the album a 7.5. I don't love Easy Now or the regular Pretty Boy (Cure remix is pretty cool). Like some, I was concerned that the album would be terrible when I had heard only those songs.... But the rest of the album is good or great. As an American, I can't do the acronyms - I think several songs are classics, like Trying to Find a World..., Dead to the World, Think of a Number...
Open the Door and Love is a Rich Man are really good upbeat pop songs, but they need better mixing and something else musically or melodically to be truly great - though I still like what he's going for. There She Blows isn't bad, but it needs some more work to be very good - it barely avoids Spinal Tap territory.
Regardless of these quibbles, the whole works as a unified listening experience - especially with the bonus tracks Don't Stop and We're going to get there. I wish Mind Games had stayed more stripped down.
A solid album, I put it after Chasing Yesterday and Who Built - tied with the first album. I think all four of his albums are really good. We are lucky he's still going....though I wish he'd speed up a bit....

Still enjoying the album (yes, even Easy Now has grown on me). Still not a fan of Love Is a Rich Man.

This has actually being a very important album for me, it basically was the soundtrack of my life while I was writing my thesis and got graduated and a lot of other (mostly nice) things happened. I think it'll always have a special place in ny heart and it also made me reflect on how Oasis/Noel's music has been there throughout for me, I started listening to them when I was only 12.
It's by no means a perfect record, but it's got heart, a great flow and a melancholic, reflective but still hopeful vibe. Some of the songs I think will stand the test of time and be regarded as some of his greatest (Dead to The World, Think of a Number), some still fit the category of HFB highlights (INGUT, Council Skies, Trying to Find, There She Blows, maybe even Easy Now although I think it's a tier below), I've also grown to enjoy Pretty Boy and Open The Door despite their obvious flows and undercooked melody bits. Love is a Rich Man doesn't do it for me, but I don't hate it.
I'm just happy he's still producing good music and it still seems to hold great meaning for him, I hope it goes on for as long as possible.

In the long run it suffers from a lot of the usual problems when it comes to pop rock. It's just a tad too safe. I really like the album, still rate it a 7 as I did on release day but it doesn't reach out to grab my soul by the nuts and force me to listen to it.
I do have occasional earworms coming from this album though.
