Seems like there's a few people doing AI stuff with Liam's voice now, and it appears to me diehard Oasis fans are pretty strongly one way or the other about it all! I'm a couple of weeks late to the party admittedly, but I thought I'd share this here as I'm interested in people's thoughts about how well these work when they're done right (or, as well as possible given the current tech), but also people's thoughts about this technology in general!
Even if you're not a fan of these AI versions, I think it's still worth a listen, mainly because the majority of these floating about at the moment are much lower-effort things with one model (often not well trained) through the original vocal, which doesn't take well to the AI.
Basically I've trained a few AI Models of liam, each that sound good at something slightly different, and I'm running my own vocals, plus noel's original vocals through each, and picking the best bits as well as some other stuff, to try and get them sounding as good as possible. Have a listen:
I'm well aware they're not perfect, and I'm not trying to do anything with them apart from a bit of fun. Still, would be good to hear people's thoughts?

I posted on the Dream On video this morning, but as I said, yours is the best AI Liam of them all out there. I'm very much looking forward for the NGHFB's album and whatever else you have cooking.

Yours are by far the best.
I know you're committed to the NGHFB work, but I really would love to hear your models done on the Oasis stuff.
I've always particularly wanted Liam versions of:
- The Masterplan
- Full On
- The Hindu Times (Demo)
- Where Did it All Go Wrong?
- Little by Little
But no pressure! It's quality over quantity, and nice to have someone putting real effort into them at any rate.

Woah! That Dream On version kind of blew me away. I get sick listening to the original. An ill feeling creeps into my body. Liam's vocals make it tolerable. And then when both Noel and Liam sing in unison at the end.

Until now I've found all the AI stuff very lack lustre and has done nothing for me. The Dream On one though literally made me stop what I was doing, really shocked me how real it sounded. Keep it up mate.

Really good work! I think I'll be playing the Council Skies one more often than the real song.
Also most people use Liam's 90s voice for this but I've seen you trained the AI with post 2008 material which sounds more fitting when doing NGHFB songs.

suburbanknight if I understand you correctly, you're recording your own vocals, which use Liam mannerisms, on top of Noel's vocals and feeding the machine learning algo with your Liam voice model this data, correct? If that's the case, I can't help but think... Rolo

I was not a fan of all this AI stuff really but that AI version of if I had a gun has changed my mind a bit

These sound much better than the usual AI versions. But how would people feel if these were actually real? With him sounding so obviously pitched up and 'enhanced' in the studio?
This just reinforces my opinion that Liam could never have sung these songs even in the studio unless the key was dropped to the point of completely changing the tone and feel of the song. The effects on his vocals on songs like The Shock Of The Lightening and The Turning were even a bit too much for me and they were both way more subtle than these sound. Would you be happy with a hypothetical new Oasis album if this is how Liam sounded on it?

If Liam sounded like this AI on a hypothetical new Oasis album it would be weird, but I really don't worry about that, because I'm sure he wouldn't sound so "obviously pitched up and 'enhanced'". He would sound a lot better and more natural because he would sound just like himself, you know ; ) So I don't agree with this opinion at all that this AI is any proof that Liam couldn't sing these songs. Btw, I'm not knocking your work, OP. Well done, this is interesting to hear. Would like to hear Dead in the Water by Liam. I really wish we could hear the real Liam sing these songs one day. |

Wow it blew all the other AI oasis tracks I heard (and the original NG version lbr) out the water. Beautiful. Still not perfect, but really good all things considered. Those AI feels Like Magic to me. This could have the Power to Change music forever. Not Long and we will hear 'new' Beatles and Elvis songs and a 'new' Mozart Opera. Everything is possible and we're only at the beginning of AI!
